Answering Natures Call
((no this isn't a forum about going to the bathroom))
I've just decided as my first post to toss one out there to see the many varieties of religion/beliefs/idea's exist among the regulars on this site. I am sure at least one of all types exists. Also and more so to get some idea's and possibly a good philosophical discussion going on peoples point of views of other religions (please do not come here and put down anyone else's beliefs) lets have a friendly discussion. I guess since I'm creating the post I'll start off by introducing my spiritual self. ********************************************************* My name is Dahn, my religion remains nameless because it does not have one, I’m not someone who lives, breaths, eats, and sleeps religious beliefs but they are with me every second of the day. I do hold a few personal 'grudges' against other religions but I try to stay as open minded as possible. Anyone else?

Excellent first topic...
Personally, I agree... my religion doesn't have a name. I don't follow the grain of any of them specifically. There are certain aspects of Christianity that appeal to me... but so are there in the Norse Mythos. I believe that supreme power is a single god and all the gods and goddesses at once. There are many personae and many ways to view the same ideal. I believe in basic spirituality as a primal part of our existance and the existance of our Earth and our universe. Druidism makes sense to me in that view, as does Shamanism and Haitian Voodoo and hoodoo magicks. I believe in the power of magic as magic and spellweaving is just another name for prayer. I believe that a strong sense of belief, and especially strong emotions, such as sorrow and true love can have effects on our surroundings. Karma is a good play on that. Bad actions promote bad repsonses and vice versa. It's a way of life. It's the universe acting out on your actions. In the end, I believe what I believe. Some of it cannot be explained in words alone. I don't look down on any religion. I do however, look down on those that look down on others for thinking differently. It's one thing to not agree... it's wholly another to think you are right and someone else wrong. |

Xephery your probably one of the first people I have ever come across that shares some of my views.
My spirituality lives within the earth itself and all the creatures and things that dwell on it. Whether there is 1 god or a god for each species or many gods in general I do not know nor do I care. I find inner peace among all life on the earth as do I always feel a welcoming of open arms in the forest. My views on magic are about the same as yours. I do not believe in magic in the form of nice pretty lights shooting from the tips of willful fingers allowing bursts of energy to envelop its target. Nor do I believe one could willful control, instruct or other wise dictate the natural occurrences in nature and life. (I.E. Raising dead, changing time, materializing objects, teleportation.) I would have to say I have more of a logical view towards the spirituality of the planet. I would have to disagree with agreeing about anything that deals with Christianity but I’m not here to argue nor denounce the possibilities in another religion J I like keeping the peace. As long as people respectfully do the same with me.

WOW.... Well I wish I were there whenever that topic first came up, after reading all that my eyes are about watering lol (from strain). But it’s nice to see the diversity on this site and how well the many different pagan types get along. Now a question that jumps to mind is are their any Christians on this site? And if so what are there views on both their own paths and that of their website brethren who have come to pagan belief.
Myself (relating to your pagan question on the other forum Tecoyah) I wouldn’t call myself a pagan even though the very definition of the word to the Christians labels me one. Nonetheless I do not refer to myself as being a pagan because I feel by naming my religion I limit it. Nevertheless the Christians religion would still call me one by its own definition. My beliefs as semi stated before do not really rely on a belief in a god, nor would anyone who follows the same type of belief call to one. In my ways mother earth was the creator of all and her life and existence is in the world itself, if not limited to just that. Though I do believe in deity type demigods.
