Late night musings

This is something i wrote late one night after going out and getting, shall we say, slightly out of myself.
I'm not sure why, but very recently i've started doing a lot of thunking, and i often find myslelf churning these types of things over in my head, but usually forget them by the morning.
This however i managed to scribble down, and i'm interesting in other peoples thoughts.
So without further adue, ramblings:

A mistake so big, your standing on top and can't see the edges. Only when you've walked to the edge and toppled off do you realise the folley of your ways.
Hit the ground, and see another endless horizon.

Thats an exactly what i wrote, which i think really makes more sense (to me at least) than a translation into standard english. However, i'll be happy to supply one if people want something that makes more sense.

But, moving onto the question, what are peoples views?
To me it sums up how my mind has been operating over the past few months, but yet still there is something in those words niggling at the back of my mind that i can't pin down.

"see another endless horizon."

Either something is not being said or you just misused your analogy (which is what I suspect). Your first analogy was that of peering over the edge of a lofty precipice. The second is that of gazing into the distance.

Two quite different metaphors. Thr first could be fear the second futility.

Seems like a combination of "Hindsight is 20/20" and the realisation that we never stop making mistakes.

Maybe you are a poet,
and did not know it.

Although, as you said Outpour, there are inconsistancies in the logic, thats what i felt was integral to the writing.
Normal when i do end up jotting these things down, there is a certain warped (or even lacking) logic to things, that one has to think about a long time before actually seeing a further message behind that.
With this particular peice, i was getting slightly bemused because i couldn't, and still can't, find the second message, which is what is starting to get at me.

Crazy

To me, it sounds something along the lines of "I've hit the ground somewhere, and now I've been set free" sort of thing. As though a series of continued and unrealized mistakes have led to something entirely different....something new and yet to be explored.

Actually, it's a deliberate mistake, i like the word thunking, it describes a more in depth, somewhat slower type of thinking.

I do like your idea Archpadalin, does sound like something that my brain would concoct.

if you are standing on top of something I would assume you could see further than when you tumbled down. Of course maybe you could then see the ground in finer detail. The ground could mean concrete reality. dunno
