the world is a sad place. thats the end of it. theres always going to be pain, death, agony, heartbreak, suffering in the world. no one can change that. no matter how much money you send to sally struthers, aids or some disease like it will be ravaging countries until the end of time.
my philosophy is that you just can't worry about this stuff. yea, you should feel bad when you see pictures like that, but don't dwell on it. you just have to live your life the best you can. then you die. |

asianavenue is as shallow as this person describes it. but good for him/her, awareness is a great thing to have, and spreading the word and educating with reality is much more effective than the drivel usually put into our heads.
Having said that, the world is full of tragedies but at the same time for every death there's a birth, everytime someone's heart breaks another falls in love, etc etc, in other words, success stories do happen. It sounds way too optimistic even for me, but the claim that the world is a sad place is a little heavy. It's more or less...mediocre...or rather...room for improvement Back to the page, it depends on how educated you are for how much of an impression it leaves. To be critical, I'd say the person should've added ways to tell people how to help the situations displayed ie. donate to xxxxxx organization, be actice in xxxxx ways, etc etc. But any wake up call is a good call.

some could say mankind brought it upon itself
or that it's god's fault or that the devil did it never really thinking about it besides the actual problems themself i have to say that it doesnt matter how we got here, only what to do and how to fix it. there have always been problems throughout history, but they get better. something bad is always going to happen. there is no way to make the world perfect, we can only fix the problems we have now. the simple fact is that if everyone did there part we would have *almost* no problems. people are people and you get what you pay for. |

"to all of you dumb dumb people who thought this was about me getting a girl..I already have a girl.. so shut your mouths.. and if you thought it`s about my stupid fame, you will never know my name nor my face so shut your mouth... and anyone who says "This page opened my eyes" is an idiot... so shut your mouth... and finally anyone who thinks I am a good person.. you are stupid too.. I am as rotten as you.. as sick as you.. the only difference is I know it and I admitt it..." Hope you guys read this part. It didn't open my eyes; I already knew all this crap and just shrug it off. In order for one race of people to live comfortably, another must suffer. That's simply the way it has always been. Should we all throw our wealth away because these people are suffering? It's a matter of haves and have-nots. I wish I could allude to the Bible here, but I can't, because I'm not a Bible junkie and have only read Genesis once and understood next to nothing of it. The reason that I am saying this is because I am pretty sure that the Bible says something about certain people having to suffer in order to support the luxuries of the wealthy. Some day things might turn around, and Asians might be the most powerful people on Earth and all caucasians will be living in third-world conditions in order to support the wealth of the Asians. It could happen-- in fact, it probably will happen in the next couple of hundred years. Things change. One set of people must suffer in order for another set to prosper. It's the exact same fucking bullshit even in "nature" (setting aside the fact that human beings are part of nature as well...) Small fish get eaten by the big fish, period. Those fish get eaten by even bigger fish. You're pretty idealistic or just plain insane if you think you can change the natural order of things. If you were a little fish with a conscience, you'd find that being a small fish is a very difficult and oppressive life to live, and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. One day, a big fish is going to swim along and eat you, whether you like it or not. It's not that there's anything wrong with the world, it is simply that we have not evolved past the animal stage. We are still exactly the same as any other animal, except slightly more civilized and (sometimes) more adept in specialized areas. Sure, you can say that a rocket scientist is extremely intelligent, but mostly in rocket scientry. Specialized field. The rest of their being consists of purely animalistic behavior. Probably the only people who have evolved past the animalistic stage are geniuses-- those who's intelligence is not specialized or centralized, but instead encompasses all aspects of life. The day that you see all these things vanish is the same day that everyone will become geniuses. I am no genius, I am a moron just like the next person. Fortunately, I accept this and am capable of seeing beyond my animalistic tendencies every now and then. As always, I have to end my post with a thumbs up

That's weird, I saw a couple of those pics in National Geographic. Kinda proves her wrong on how she thinks the west doesn't care about the REAL Asian communities.
The world is in a balance. Sometimes it goes off, but it usually is a nice 50-50. Good and Evil. Light and Shadow. Black and White. While half the world enjoys nice weather, peace, and loving families, the other has to live in atrocities, plagued with disease, war, poverty. But you can't take those atrocities for granted either. They keep the population in check. Demographically, the world wouldn't survive much long if everyone lived till they were 90. The world would be packed. As if it isn't already. My only advice is this. Either believe in reincarnation and hope you live a more fortunate life in the next, or be a believer and live well, die well, and go to heaven. Or, if you have no belief, then live to the best of your capabilities. Some people live on the small joys of life. And sometimes, the small joys of life is the best. |

Very powerful...one of my favorite theological images is borrowed from a HIV hospice center for GBLT Christians: "The Body of Christ is Living with AIDS." So long as any of us suffer, our humanity connects us to that suffering, and we must not turn away...
All the while, Bush is cutting funding for AIDS programs that include condoms...these pictures are why we americans really need to make noise on this. |

most people still have a stigma against AIDS
its sad but true - people still refer to it as the "gay disease" and think you can get it just by touching someone with it AIDS awareness defenitely isn't out there - and the sad part is, people get it daily - in america alone one in 5 teens who have it don't even know it think of the world where its even less well known AIDS is still like one of those virus that really seem to be out to kill humanity - it kills the one thing needed to survive and thats to reproduce so its really targetting the very reason we survive anyways thats my own view after reading a really touching book of a doctor taking care of aids patients in the 80's.. sad |
