On the road to ring's today, I inexplicably found myself wondering about God's sense of humor & couldn't bring to mind a single good example. Anyone?

I tend to think that If There Is A God, and that if He is truly omnipotent, his thought processes would be so alien to us that such mundane things as humour would be unidentifiable.

However, If There Is A God and if He does have a recognizable sense of humour, I would contend that the duck-billed platypus exists solely as a manifestation of such.

If there is a God, His sense of humor would certainly revolve around the fact he chooses not to prove Himself to the world and instead lets 6 billion humans fight each other instead.

a huge series of misunderstandings, mishaps, bad timing, prat falls, the whole shebang. most people miss the joke, because they take it all too seriously. they tend to forget this is only temporary, and most of the stuff we do here doesn't matter. what happens in vegas may or may not stay in vegas, but what happens here on earth definitely stays here on earth.

...In addition to what Halanna said above, God says in the Bible that he knows our hearts...it all matters but that's what matters most. You will find from my posts that i am no goody two-shoes (i try and my heart is right ) but i AM a believer...i try to be open and accepting of others and not judgemental though.

Here's how God would answer the question as to whether or not he has a sense of humor...

...God says in Genesis that he created man in his own image. We have a sense of humor and so he must also. God did not want to create a bunch of robots though so he gave us the ability to choose to love&obey him or choose sin. In the old testament, when sin entered into the picture (soon afterwards), then man began to abuse his own image and man's image changed. I see NO sense of humor from God from that point on until the new testament of the Bible starts...

...please stop reading now if this is annoying you as i'm NOT wanting to preach. I'm still trying to explain how God's image is like man when man is not sinning. I understand that many disagree with me. This is only MY belief...and i'm not trying to change anyone elses mind.

...so, then, when the new testament began, Jesus paid the punishment for man's sin so man could be forgiven of his sin, his godlike image restored, and was given an ability to CHOOSE obedience or sin. Sure, believers are still tempted to sin but God knows their hearts (he states that in the bible) and that they know right from wrong. Believers have made a commitment to try to obey God's perfect plan.

...soooo, man's image and God's image is the same once again and sharing a sense of humor for those things that fall within the parameters of the 10 commandments

We're the same thing,small bits of creation.To me God=all that there is,life,the force that seeks equilibrium.The material world as we see it must be only a limited expression of what really goes on.
Too bad we're so blind.We can't even see the whole electromagnetic spectrum let alone the supreme force smiling.
And too bad we're so dumb&can't make good use of most of our brain;then we would know the true story behind the platypus.

The problem is we blame the mistakes of mankind and dictators like Hitler on God. If someone says to his people that he follows God and goes to church once or more it doesn't make him a believer. Being a muslim, I am not very familiar with the bible but interested to learn it as it is one of God's great religions. I read once that you know a tree from its bearings in reference to the bible. It means that your actions show who you are. This is very correct as Hitler shown the people he was a christian, but his actions where killing innocent people.

As God punishes the wicked he also helps the believers. He gave petroleum to the people from the desert because they where faithful and always prayed to him and made them rich with castles beyond dreams. You could say that petroleum was there since the dinosaurs in Saudi Arabia this is true. But again, who is the creator who can cross time lines in the 4th and 5th(tachyons) dimensions? He knows the future and can give you something from the past based on your future because he knows what you'll do later. No one else but God who created time can do that.

How did God create time?
Scientists said that the big bang came from a point of zero volume and infinite mass. There was no time in the beginning they said. Time was created by the explosion. Hence the creator was there to make this explosion happen. This means God is outside the time frame that we live in. God I think is in another dimension, maybe 4th maybe 5th, God knows where.
