George W. Bush won't step down
This is my paranoid thought for the day. This president is so intent on violating the rules that effect his power...
Examples: http://www.house.gov/commerce_democr...askforce.shtml http://www.bostonphoenix.com/boston/...s/02552163.htm -That this President won't step down when his second term is up. That is my belief. I hope I am wrong. |

It would look very bad for his part he if tries to stay in power after his second term is down. Besides I don't think the American public is stupid enough to let him get away with it.
Lets just hope they aren't...

Wasn't there some stuff a few years ago about GWB* preparing documents that would suspend an election in case of national emergency? So many paranoid writings on the web, I can't trace it down right now.
*In Robert Anton Wilson's trilogy Schrodinger's Universe, there was a supercomputer called GWB, which was short for Great White Beast. I think it destroyed the world a couple of times.

Not to fuel the paranoia...but that's why we're here, isn't it?
I thought of this before the 2004 elections, and I think it still is a possible, if inplausible situation: There is another (staged or not) attack on the United States within a month of election time. Reacting in accordance to the way similar attacks in Spain changed the outcome of the elections there, President George Bush asks FEMA to suspend the Presidential elections until such time as the safety & sanctity of the elections can be ensured. CAVEAT: I'm not sure if FEMA actually does have the power to suspend elections...there have been many rumors to that end. Can someone find a credible source that verifies/denies this power?

I'm pretty sure that Congress would have to signal that, not FEMA.

Told my cousin a few weeks back that i'll bet he serves a 3rd term. glad to see i'm not the only paranoid one about Georgy...its those beady little eyes of his..creeps me out....(laughing but serious too)

It won't matter whether he steps down or not, Rove will still be in power (unless he's in prison) under Jeb or whoever else. The neocons aren't that stupid to try such an obvious powergrab especially when GWB is little more than a puppet whose only purpose is to secure Southern votes. How people convinced themselves that a blue-blood New England boy was a down-home southerner, I'll never know.

Why would congress stand up against anything Bush does? If they arrange that he stay in office -he could help them out as well. Not to mention by that time the Supreme Court will be well stocked up with Dumya supporters. -I don't like it. I don't like him and I hate his supporters.

Yeah I'm sure Congress will be able to amend the constitution so that either the mandated election day gets changed and/or postponed, or that Bush is allowed to run for a 3rd term, better yet he'll just assume power. Same with the Supreme Court, I'm sure the two Bush appointee's will seduce the other 7 members into the constitutional legality and muster off taking a 3rd term.

Bush doesn't have to get FEMA or congress to approve shit, he'll be able to cancel the elections in a wave of his hand.
He's working on the Martial Law plan for Avian Flu and there's the Patriot Act and I have a gut feeling all kinds of little tricks in his and Rove's hat. All he'll need is an excuse that Limbaugh, O'Reilly and the talking heads can sell. Won't be that hard. Terrorist attack, an outbreak of some disease, striking workers, Pat Robertson saying God is coming if Bush can't stay.... what ever, the plans are there and set. What will show if there is merit to this or not is how the '06 elections go. if polls show the Dems to be taking the House back and all of a sudden the GOP wins in predominantly Dem. areas or win where the polls had them losing by more than 8% (5% for shits and giggles 3% for the commonly used margin of error). We'll see..... As far as '04 goes, I'm still wondering why Ohio never truly investigated the polling areas that had more votes than voters, Blackwell throwing out 1000's of registration cards where they were like 90% Dem. Oh yeah Taft and Noe took all the heat and attention off that little nothingness.....

I don't think that Bush is the one to be paranoid about. More likely Cheney.. Bush will step down, Cheney will get elected next round, and 8 yrs later, power will be consolidated, a la Palpatine ?

How is Jeb supposed to be President if George is hogging all the Oval Office time?

Was watching the tv show cops this past saturday night, and a guy in vegas got into a fight with some homeless guy, who exposed himself. Not for calling him names, or getting naked in the resturaunt, or even for throwing soda at him. He said when the guy called him 'George bush, that was just too much.'
Now that cracked me up! |

And now an episode of First Family Ties:
Laura (Talking to a closed door): Now Georgie, come out of the bathroom and talk to your daddy. W's (unseen voice from behind the door): But I dont wanna, it's mine mine mine. Pappy Bush: Now, now son it wouldn't be prudent at this juncture to act like a spoiled brat. It's Jeb's turn to bring his dates home and make deals with them and then Neil wants to use the House to court his suitors. W: well Jeb and Neil ain't no George W daddy. Hell who took out Saddam for you? Pappa Bush: I thanked you for that son. But now it's the others turn. Hell, I had to give that guy at Diebold part ownership in Clear Channel to get Jeb elected..... now you're coming outta there. Enter Jeb dressed in Buster Brown sailor suit licking a large rainbow lollipop: Jeb: Hiya dad, is Georgie still not coming out? Pappa Bush (now frustrated and banging on the door): Go get you mother Jeb. Jeb (running down the hall with his giant rainbow lollipop): Georgie's gonna get it Georgie's gonna get it. Barbra (comes down the hallway, and stops at the door ): Now, George if you don't stop bogarding the White House and open this door I'll have Pat Robertson tell God to smite you. The door opens...... a weeping W exits W: Anything but that mom..... Join us next week when: Jeb: well golly gee dad, if I allow GM to totally write off their pensions and not pay them, they promised me a new Corvette. Pappa Bush: Jeb you'll kill yourself.... besides you know our friends Dick, Pat, Rev. Moon and the Sauds make all the decisions. And they decided GM need to go bankrupt so the unions will get blamed and there will be no more unions. Besides we have heavily invested in Toyota and Honda and promised them GM's assets. Jeb: But dad Pappa Bush: no but dads.... now stop dreaming and do as ordered and I'll bring Bill and Hilary to dinner.... you know how they always make you laugh with their "help the children, socialize medicine, give money to the workers" crazy talk. Jeb: Ok dad, plus Bill always has some killer bud and that Hilary is such a power whore she sucks a good cock, can make me cum faster than my daughter can write fake prescriptions and get them filled..... Pappa Bush: JEB!!!!!!!!!!! Go to your room. Announcer: Tonight's episode was brought to you by: the fine people of Halliburton.... "We're proud to sell the military..... (hmmmm ooo oooo yeah sorry) We are proud to service our fighting men and women with the materials they need at such affordable costs" The wonderful people at Clear Channel........... "now owners of Sirius and XM communications" And the wonderful people at Fox Broadcasting...... "Fair and balanced.... who cares we own it all now"
