Supernatural Orb?

Hey guys..
Been lurking around here for a while now, without much cause to post stuff...
last week however the GF and I decided to visit a little place about 10 Mins walk from my house - Balumbie Castle Hotel, with a view to nosing about a bit in the old, burnt out hotel building. There's an old castle in the grounds (which is well fenced off unfortunately) which isn't particularly scary. Anyway.. the GF is a former film student, and big into zombie-type films (y'know Resident Evil 28 days later, dawn of the dead, Shaun of the dead ;-) that sort of thing) so we went with those kind of ideas in our heads for possible future shooting sites..
I took lots of photos of various spooky looking parts of the building - including sticking the camera in a bricked up room and setting it off with flash.
While walking up there we were ok, mucking about, all that. While we were inside the building however, both of us really felt uncomfortable, but couldn't explain why. Both of us have dne plenty of this sort of thing before, and never been affected anything like this.
Anyway, the reason for this post:
When we got back to my house, I plugged the digital camera into the pc, and started flicking thru the spooky building pics. The two pictures I've posted are of the same room, taken about 20 secs apart roughly 9.30pm. The only difference is that the second one is taken with the flash on, the first without. These photos have NOT been doctored in any way, except shrunk down a little in Paintshop pro to fit here a little better.
anyone see what spooked me with the second one?

WTF is that beside the graffiti in the left of the picture over the bricked up window? Seriously, I need to know. If's it's a flaw in the picture, a reflection off some debris, that's cool, but I need other opinions. But take a good look at it! it's perfectly symmetrical, and the colours are pretty impressive.
Either way... We ain't going back there for a while!!

Any ideas?
Cheers Guys!

p.s.. If anyone wants a copy of the full size pics to look closer, PM me..

As a quick update... A friend of a colleagues Hubby's (sounds contrived, I know, but true ) used to live there - his parents owned it- and apparently there have been quite a few unexplained sightings around the hotel, including some form on knight-type figure.
Damn... now I *REALLY* want to get into the castle itself!

Can you post a full size picture of the 'orb' ?

I was going to say it is a spec of dust floating close to the lens. Then I zoomed into it and it looks like a ball with a halo of light around it.

Spoooooooky !!!

My first thoughts were that it must surely be a speck of something floating about too, then I zoomed in and saw how symmetrical and regular the shape was. Here's another couple of images of just the 'Orb' (or whatever it is).
First one is full size straight from the original pic, the second is zoomed in a fair bit.

Like I said, nothing's been faked, I just want to know what it really is i captured here. I'm doubting it's dust or whatever on the lens - surely it would have been in some of my other shots and it quite clearly isn't.
For more reference, it was a sunny clear evening (around 9.30pm) and it was quite still; the camera was a Fujifilm Finepix S3500, and nothing like this has appeared on any images I've taken before.

Looks like you are onto something. If the pictures have been unaltered it could've been something that the camera picked up or could've been something that either a) reflected the light or b) caused the light to "bend" which is just another way of saying that it was reflected.

Just go back there and see what it is. And then play around with it a little more. Take more pictures... investigate. Who knows what could happen? Just watch out for the zombies on the way out.

Nothing supernatural, its just your camera trying to adapt to low light conditions, I notice your flash didn't fire in the second photo. This phenomenon is well documented and well understood in photography circles.

Most orb photographs are taken with digital cameras under extremely low-light conditions and are nothing more than digital flaws caused by lack of pixelation or filling of the proper colors due to a digital defect. I have viewed thousands of such pictures and they are nothing paranormal, especially when taken with older digital cameras

My girlfriend had an entire series of pictures that she took in a dorm room (not haunted by any means) with "orbs" identical to this.. on her clothing, her friends clothing, and in the air. I've edited artifacts like this out of many photos, and I've come to conclude that it IS water droplets on the lens itself. Because water is transparent AND it reflects, it causes all sorts of strange things on camera lenses; especially when it is on or near the lens itself. Sorry. EDIT: theMarq is very correct as well.

Although, if you wanted to believe it wasn't -- there's a perfect "monster" for this artifact. The Will 'o Wisp.. created from the vapors that rise from the dense jungle swamps, these mindless forms seek out the energy contained in all living things. While not evil in nature, their feeding habits do make them a serious threat to humans and animals.

"The will o'wisp is a creature that dwells in the darkness of swamps and bogs. It can shape itself to look like a lantern or any other source of light, making it the perfect hunter - and killer."

Eep.. scary!

On the contrary.. it's in the darker of the two images that I turned the flash on, to try to stabilise the slightly blurry images taken without it, as the light was beginning to fade...

As I said, I'm not out to contradict any theories.. I just wanna see what other people think *might* be the cause of a seemingly spooky image

lol.. Sorry JinnKai.. I live in Scotland!!! 'Dense Jungle Swamps'..heh...
Although surprisingly it was a very dry day/ evening... I'm not so sure about the 'water droplets' theory.. surely it would have appeared in some of my other shots, which it hasn't

But hey... open mind an' all that!! Cheers for your thoughts!

I'm sure it was a camera malfunction. If the camera can pick it up then so can our eyes, and if you didn't see anything then, it must be the camera. Im all for a good mystery, but these types of phenomenons arn't that surprising/interesting.
