Am I a thread killer?

Okay, I'm feeling excessively paranoid about this. While scrolling through several of the boards, I've noticed that I'm the last person to have posted in some of the threads. Now, I KNOW it can't be that my answers are the be all/end all to these topics. I'd hate to think I'm a thread killer! :( :hmm:

insidious_machinae 11-17-2003 06:29 PM

Usually that happens when a person posts something that is either conclusive, or that nobody has anything to respond with. I myself am a thread killer quite often because I either unintentionally hijack the thread, or say something that is so stupid, nobody knows how to even approach my post. So they don't.

j03th3j3w 11-18-2003 12:10 AM

well.. neither of you are thread killers as of now... but.. good luck in your persuit of bein a thread killer... i wish you the best! cheers!

Jam 11-18-2003 12:52 AM

ahem.. if youd all kindly stop posting i could kill this thread :D

/me urinates on the submit reply button... ahhah!! now click on it, i dare yah

BentNotTwisted 11-18-2003 07:17 AM

One question, are you late joining the thread? If the thread has a lively discussion going, I doubt one post by you would kill it. I've seen lots of your comments followed by other posts in many threads. So, I'd say yes, you are being paranoid. But remember, just because you're paranoid doesn't mean 'they' are not out to get you.

Hopefully this comment will kill this thread! But I doubt it.

:D

numist 11-18-2003 09:33 AM

too bad....

Dano, I don't think your a thread killer, at least, if there are any threads that youve killed, they only died because I missed them on the way down.. :D

txlovely 11-19-2003 02:51 PM

I'd say in some cases that you could take being a thread killer as a complement. What do I know - I'm a rookie :)

rev_skarekroe 11-19-2003 03:23 PM

Actually, I'M a thread killer. If you don't respond, I'll prove it.

THAT thought had crossed my mind. It would have been way too funny if that had happened. :D :D :D :D

numist 11-20-2003 12:58 PM

ok, now that Dano069 has posted... no one else post so everyone thinks he killed this thread!

oh wait... oops...

damn...

txlovely 11-20-2003 08:38 PM

Let me do it for you, numist. I am beginning to think that there isn't a thread on this entire board where I can simply make posts without being verbally attacked. Either that or I feel as though I'm being stalked. I don't suppose one can report every posting that falls in one of those categories, i.e. I think the paranoia forum was created especially for me.
There, you may not be the thread killer afterall.

Jam 11-25-2003 09:43 PM

txlovely!!!grrr... what a horrible post..

ps.. im watching you

thingstodo 12-08-2003 03:57 AM

I have a feeling that this thread could go on forever and forever. I mean, who could now let it die?

geodaro 12-08-2003 08:49 AM

Hey TXLovely, where did you go last night after dinner? I lost your car when you ran that red light and I wasn't able to catch up! Anyway, I hope your having fun at work. P.S. I like that shirt!

Ch'i 09-03-2006 11:49 PM

I have the same problem. I think its because I try to solve the problem without fostering discussion. If you don't believe me just look at the philosophy board...

fresnelly 09-04-2006 06:51 AM

The philosophy board has been *really* slow lately. The reasons for that are up for debate, but it ain't you. :)

Personally I think why that forum's been slow is more of a philosophical problem than a thread killing problem

Lady Sage 09-04-2006 12:03 PM

I too am a thread killer..... *washes the submit button with copious amounts of lysol then presses*

Jove 09-04-2006 02:09 PM

I was about to comment about Dano's comment, but Lady Sage just killed this thread by washing the submit button.

cookmo 09-04-2006 04:07 PM

I've always felt like a thread killer, on this and other boards. Just watch, you'll see ;)

Jove 09-04-2006 05:26 PM

The only way one can be an actual thread killer is if you don't point out the fact you at one time were a thread killer. Otherwise, I may come on here and ruin your prediction.

Ch'i 09-06-2006 02:26 PM

Its done. I have officially killed Tilted Philosophy. Had I known this would have happened I would never have started... "Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds."

Lady Sage 09-06-2006 04:02 PM

I HAD to wash the submit button..... if you look up farther Jam peed all over it... it was a terrible mess... I had to use bleach.

Mark23 09-06-2006 09:38 PM

It's OK to be a thread killer. It happens quite a lot to me. Of course, it's much better to kill a thread than to anger people so much that you receive about 20 replies saying how much of an idiot you are.

SugahBritches 09-06-2006 09:54 PM

LMAO! Well, by the looks of this thread (started 3 yrs ago by Dano) I'd think the chances of him being a thread killer is nil to none now!

shesus 09-07-2006 04:17 AM

At least thread killers can't be tried for murder. ;) But I like to think of it as that topic has been thoroughly discussed and there is nothing else to add. The only threads that are bad to kill imo are the Rate threads and the Say Something Nice thread. Those are the only threads where I'm like...hmm...why is no one responding?

And I think that the last person who posts in this thread will be the ultimate thread killer....Who's posting next? :hmm:

Jove 09-09-2006 07:02 PM

Good question Shesus, it all depends on who wants to respond on your post that also follows my post. This thread might not exist at all and I am just typing this all out in a dream.

absofsteel 11-24-2006 01:04 AM

I have also noticed that the life expectancy of a thead plummets when I'm around..............(ominous last post?)

tecoyah 11-24-2006 03:51 AM

Good to see this thread revived by absofsteel....seems I can't help but reply when he says something....heh

Jove 11-24-2006 11:05 AM

I killed this thread for about two months, which is an average record, but I think geodaro has the best record of 3 years.

Crack 11-27-2006 06:55 AM

...as a door nail.

Cynthetiq 11-27-2006 09:11 AM

o rly???????

surferlove007 11-27-2006 01:21 PM

Nice to know I'm not the only one who wonders this when no one responds after myself.
*Phew*

Sorcha 11-27-2006 03:05 PM

Nah, I killed a couple threads. I felt like a thread killer, and I just got here :p

Zeraph 11-27-2006 04:53 PM

The question is, who will kill this thread?

mixedmedia 11-27-2006 05:29 PM

I'm a thread killer. I've gotten used to it. Just watch....

Elphaba 11-27-2006 07:38 PM

Y'all are just amateur thread killers. I kill my own topics. I'm thinking of upping my post counts to my threads by just responding to myself...forever. :D

little_tippler 11-28-2006 01:20 AM

Yeah, I seem to kill my own topics too. It's like if I reply to people, then suddenly no-one has anything to say. And I'm not paranoid...I think it's the ocean that lies between us...people can't relate to me...has anyone got a hanky?

*passes Kleenex* There there...

People probably see your response as a resolution to the thread. They put their input, you respond to their input...there ya go. lol. The ocean isn't that big! Promise.
