I have often wondered about being a thread killer on other boards. I don't seem to have that effect here yet.
However,I can feel my powers growing stronger, ... soon I will be the greatest killer of threads ever imagined, Feared by forum posters everywhere. The entire v-bulliten continuum will tremble at the mere mention of my screen name!!!!

mixedmedia 11-28-2006 11:15 AM

oops...I'm sorry, did you say something. :p

Jozrael 12-02-2006 05:46 PM

How about if you -start- a thread, an no one responds? Eh? I think I win that one :D

zed wolf 12-02-2006 06:34 PM

I've had that happen on other boards.

I too get the creeping feeling of being guilty of thread execution.
No reason to be paranoid, Dano, it's safe for everyone here, even thread killers.

hey everybody, we'll murder Dano in his sleep, he won't suspect a thing. that damn thread-killer.

Mixedmedia blows my skirt up.

Omigod ! It looks like an entire forum.... tilted politics .....has been "killed".

Just as on individual threads....it wasn't "posts" that killed it....after the election last month....the conservatives, en masse, ceased to post....and now, apparently, if two days is any indication, the "rest of us" have stopped posting, too.

So....relax. Posting does not "kill" a thread, indeed......"not posting", is the death knell.....

abaya 12-12-2006 10:29 PM

Okay, freaky, no one has posted on this thread in 3 days... let's see what happens after I post... :)

dd3953 12-13-2006 12:22 AM

damn, i didn't even notice this was posted 3 years ago, until i got half way down the posting :)

i am surprised i am not a thread killer (or at least i haven't noticed if i am) because my idea of discussion is a little different than most, & my opinions tend to be so far off (from what other people think) they don't get responded to . . . just talked around :)

Average_Joe 12-13-2006 06:44 AM

I don't know why, but everytime I kill a thread (or am the last poster) I relate it too the scenario when there is a room full of people having different discussions, and suddenly the room grows quiet, and you are the only person speaking (and in a loud voice), then everybody looks at you.

nice idea . . . . and sooner or later someone else starts talking again & people can forget you were the loud mouth person talking a few minutes ago

Average_Joe 12-18-2006 02:00 PM

Oh man, you ruined it. I thought I definitely would be the thread killer with that bit of nonsense! :)

MexicanOnABike 01-04-2007 10:00 AM

this is still going? i vote for a delete of this thread.

I kill off threads on a regular basis on forums all over the internet. Personally I consider it to be something of an honor. It seems to me to be a privilege, if you will, that I can supply the final words on a subject and leave people speecheless thereafter.

Whoever posts last on this thread will forever be the ultimate thread killer. Could it be me?

I laughed when I saw this because I have often wondered the same thing. Sucks to be the last poster in a thread.

Not if I can help it.

I will show you mercy and post after you, to spare you that sucked feeling.

By the way why is your name a shorter version of mine?

This being the paranoia forum I'd say it either means I'm stalking you or you're stalking me, or possibly it has something to do with George Bush and the CIA.:suave:

MexicanOnABike 01-07-2007 02:32 PM

i thought being a thread killer was a bad thing and now everyone wants to be the thread killer of this one ... i don't get it.

That happens to me all the time and I don't know why...Although most of the things I say make the room grow quiet so it could just be me not the comment. lol

I just had that experience on GD with my post on the "Letter to the Editor" thread (immigration). Literally, I posted in a very loud voice, and people stopped talking... :( But on the other hand, it is also kind of cool that it shut people up. :D
