A Dream

I had the wierdest dream last night. I was amidst some kind of battle, and I was so excited and relieved to finally be aware of it because it had always been going on and I had just failed to see it, in spite of the fact that I was searching for it. My friends were there too. They were all warriors, fighting the good fight. They were taking me to meet Dr. Sayers (my high school chemistry teacher in real life whom I had always percieved as sort of a mentor) who was their guide and would tell me what type of warrior I was to become. When we finally arrived, he told me that due to my psychic ability and personality type, I was destined to be a guide like him to lead the warriors. I was so disappointed that I would not get to fight alongside my friends. Anyway, that's all. I had other dreams that night too, but they were boring. Hope someone out there likes hearing about this one though.

Wow sounds like a fun dream! My dream only involved trying to convince a serial killer from killing me and my friends by using sarcasm. somehow it worked.

I just had a dream that there were two scorpions, one big, one small. The big one struggled to move, while the other nimbly caught a spider and ate it. I don't get it, but it feels like it has intense meaning.

Another:

I wear a red metal bracelet in memory of the FDNY on September 11th. It is engraved with the name of Captain Timothy Stackpole who died while saving lives. In my dream the inscription is erased and all it says is "Harry Houdini". That one scares me.

Any dream analysts?

Uh, I know a little about dream analysis, but I have no idea about those two. Your brain is too complex for me. You use symbolism in your sleep... literally. Most impressive.

That is a strange dream for sure. At least not a nightmare.

There is a dream I have had repeatedly since I was a small child. The best way to describe it is that I am in a HUGE metal bowl. I'm constantly running back and forth never able to escape, never able to stopp running. An empty spool for thread is rolling back and forth and changing direction constantly. The dream just goes on and on until I wake and when I have it the next time it is the same thing again.

By now I'm not even sure that it is anything more than plain old imagination.

lucid dreams

every once in awhile i'll have a dream and will realize that i am dreaming and am able to take control of the action.

i think that's called lucid dreaming but i'm not sure...

it was strange at first but now when it happens i just have fun with it. like this morning when my body was in deep sleep, the most intense dreaming time for me, about a hour or so before usually waking up, i realized in my dream that i could control my dream instead of just watch it like any usual dream.

I decided to take control of it and soon found myself walking on water and jumping off high structures without concern for gravity or death.

Not get to fight? First off, if you can teach them to fight.. You could probably do some fighting if need be. Beyond that, you'd have the teacher thing going. Think of a spiritual battle how you guided someone to the warrior that they are. They did great, and they used 'moves' you taught them. That would make you feel just ask good as actually doing the battle yourself. Aside from that, some warriors don't use brute strength to fight. I know I'm taking this to a spiritual tangent, but I say so only because its what I thought of first, and I've had my occurances with spiritual battles.. AND, i've have very specific dreams that led up them. Well, I'm not the hack'n'slash kinda fighter. I'm that smart one that goes in to do the dirty work, while the fighters keep the enemy off of me. To put that in a physicla sense. Its kinda like disarming the nuke, while your buddy's are busy defending you so you can disarm it without someone shooting at you. Either way you look at it, its quite wonderful. Keep thinking about this, and report any other dreams you have. I'm very interested in this.

Hmm, when I was younger I used to have nightmare that came to me constantly. Not nightly, but I had it over and over again for the course of a couple of years. (Thats how my nightmares work.. thankfully I don't have a current theme right now) But they slowly got better and better. They were still nightmares, but they did get a BIT better. Finally the last one, I conquered the dream, and became one of my greatest dreams.... as i conquered it. Then I never had it again. Have you noticed any slight differences in it? Concentrate on that spool of thread... so that the next time you dream, you look at that in your dream... perhaps it could be the way out of the dream.

My dreams always have a lot of symbolism, which is strange to me. I'm a VERY literal-minded person. I take things at face value and am really bad at trying to deeper or alternate meanings for the most part.

One such dream that sticks out is around when I first went to college.. I was driving down a street looking for a house where I was supposed to meet some buddies from high school, when I hit a sheet of ice, spun out, and ended up in the middle of a big intersection. It was basically a huge circle with like 50 streets radiating from it, and I couldn't figure out which street I had come from.

Lots of stuff about leaving people/memories behind, losing control, coming to new points in life and having to choose a path.. Not the most subtle symbolism, but better than I could come up with in my waking hours.

and people claim you can't dream in color or read, but i'd swear on my life that i could, and do as a matter of fact..

weridest dream i had, i shot my dog in the head, point blank, felt the recoil and everything, but it didn't just die, it's a pit so she fought back and scractched my arm, when i woke up my arm was bloody, and i had to run downstairs to make sure my dog was okay.

Scary about your arm!
When I was a kid I used to dream that I could jump very very high, and land without getting hurt. I could feel the landing in my feet, but it didn't hurt. I've been able to do lucid dreaming a bit now when I'm older, but only when I've been reading about the subject for days and my brain is really thinking much about it. Had one cool dream where I could feel a bump in the floor very real, and I went outside and made lightning strike a lamppost. Then I tried creating sexy babes, and I woke up. Can't have it all, I guess

Thanks for the tip.

I never stopped to really think about this dream but since i posted here I've thought about it some more. I think it started about the time that I was old enough to realize that my father had a lot of phsycological problems and I think it was more frequent when he was being suicidal (the phsychiatric ward began to refuse him when the cops brought him in it was that frequent). I think the dreams pretty much faded out when I moved out. There have been times I've had it since but I think it could be related to times when I've felt trapped in an unhealthy relationship. I hope that's it. If I do have it again I will try what you've suggested. Good thought.
