(Thats how my nightmares work.. thankfully I don't have a current theme right now) But they slowly got better and better. They were still nightmares, but they did get a BIT better. Finally the last one, I conquered the dream, and became one of my greatest dreams.... as i conquered it. Then I never had it again. Have you noticed any slight differences in it? Concentrate on that spool of thread... so that the next time you dream, you look at that in your dream... perhaps it could be the way out of the dream.

Thanks for the tip.
I never stopped to really think about this dream but since i posted here I've thought about it some more. I think it started about the time that I was old enough to realize that my father had a lot of phsycological problems and I think it was more frequent when he was being suicidal (the phsychiatric ward began to refuse him when the cops brought him in it was that frequent). I think the dreams pretty much faded out when I moved out. There have been times I've had it since but I think it could be related to times when I've felt trapped in an unhealthy relationship. I hope that's it. If I do have it again I will try what you've suggested. Good thought.
