Lots of great stuff coming out lately and it looks pretty good for the rest of the year too. Here's a few of the best ones i've picked up so far this year:
There's a few others that could be up there as well but I haven't given them enough of a chance yet to say for sure. Been great listening so far though, seems like every tuesday lately there's something new worth picking up.

I'm going to go with COLD ROSES by Ryan Adams. I've listened to a ton of stuff on Rhapsody this year; the new Oasis, White Stripes, Ringo Starr, Aimee Mann and a few others I'm not thinking of as I sit here, but Adams' disc takes my gold medal thus far.

Only two of the CDs I've bought so far this year were released in 2005. One was Belle & Sebastian's Push Barman to Open Old Wounds, but that was a compilation of EPs released years earlier overseas. The other was Brendan Benson's The Alternative to Love. That was pretty good, so I'll go with that.

Queens of the stoneage - Lullabies to paralyze.
I got it the day it came out, listened to it pretty much every day since. I cannot get tired of it.

Brendan Benson - The Alternative to Love Andrew Bird and the Mysterious Production of Eggs Queens of the Stone Age - Lullabies to Paralyze Of Montreal - The Sunlandic Twins Of those, I still need to give the Andrew Bird a few more listens, but my favorite so far by far is The Sunlandic Twins. The Queens is great when good, and boring when not. For every fantastic "Burn the Witch" or "Someone's in the Wolf", there's an uninteresting "In My Head" or "You've Got a Killer Scene There, Man...". Andrew Bird's the same way, wonderful spots and lackluster spots, though I'm more hopeful that the lackluster would grow on me with further listens. Benson's good, but only a couple tracks might qualify as more than ordinary.

I've been meaning to go back to Borders and read the article on them in Q...I've been in love with Noel Gallagher for 10 years now. That aside, I love the FEEL of the new album. It's very vintage. Love it.
