We Didn't Start the Fire.
I had a US History test based off of every event named in that song. One of the few times I had fun studying. edit: what's up page 2?

Ah crap, you can't pick just one!
As a Long Islander, I grew up listening to the man's music daily on WNEW-FM. Remember when they played good music? My 9th grade social studies teacher used "We didn't start the fire" to teach us about every reference in the song. We went around the room until everybody had two or three of the names or events, and then went home and wrote a page about it. I remember I lucked out by getting all the sports ones. I got "Brooklyn's got a winning team", California Baseball, and Liston beats Paterson. One of the best assignments I ever did. Anyway... In no particular order: Captain Jack Leningrad The Stranger Pressure Goodnight Saigon Miami 2017 I liked Piano Man, but I've heard too many drunk frat boys ruin it during Karaoke nights that I just can't appreciate it anymore. By the way, Billy Joel is looking pretty rough these days... -Mikey |
