Sorry if there are any repeats here, but I'd highly recommend the following:
The MC5 - These guys along with the stooges came out of the Detroit area, considered proto-punk now. Iggy and the Stooges Ramones - Great fucking rock songs. Fucking great. Richard Hell and the Voidoids Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers - Richard Hell, Johnny Thunders and the Ramones are all kind of connected. Interesting stuff if you're into the history of punk and rocknroll. Awesome music too. Check out the song Chinese Rocks, written by DeeDee Ramone and done by the Heartbreakers originally. Jedi Mind Tricks - Philadelphia hip-hop. Keepin' it real. Non-Phixion - Hip-hop out of NYC. Sci-fi gangsters. Big L - Another hip-hop wonder that's dead now, unfortunately. Find his freestyles especially if you can, they're really on point. Atmosphere - More of that underground hip-hop. Solid shit from these guys consistently. If any of my info. is wrong, don't send out the assassians. |
