I saw British Export, a Beatles tribute band at the local college this fall, and they were awesome! They really got into the music, and they encouraged audience participation. They really resembled the Fab Four, to the point where the member who played Paul played his bass guitar left-handed, just like McCartney does.

I've recently seen the first tribute band ever. Michael White and The White a tribute to Led Zeppelin. They have an everchanging lineup from what i've seen on their website. I was expecting some longhaired guys in their 40's but I was surprised to see Michael White looking like a fat old longhair and 3 dudes in their mid to late twenties basically dressed in their street clothes. Even I dress up more then these guys when onstage.

When they started playing I was extremely surprised. this was part of their discography series so it means they play a whole album in its entirety.
I went to the Led Zeppelin 1 concert (my fave album!) and these guys were as obsessive about Zeppelin as I am. To the point of playing the Dazed and Confused from the concert album note for note...26 minutes of it!

While Led Zeppelin 1 clocks in at about 38 minutes this playing of the album took 86 with the Communication Breakdown from "live on Blueberry Hill" bass solo and the White Summer/Black Mountainside from Julie Felix Show in 1970.

Like I said these guys were unreal....close your eyes and it was Zeppelin.

There is a touring group called "Get Back" that features members of the Broadway cast of "Beatlemania". I have seen them a couple of times and are very good. I'm talking "Freaky" good where you close your eyes and you think you are listening to the real thing.

The best KISS tribute band I have seen is one called "War Machine". They were featured at the Detroit KISS Konvention.

There used to be a cover band at SummerFest in Milwaukee called Dread Zeppelin. A led zeppelin cover band that wore funky costumes and had a bongo player.

Saw the Austrailian Pink Floyd Show about a year ago. Very entertaining. They played a nice mix of stuff from the entire PF catalog. Am wanting to go see "Wish You Were Here" another PF tribute band, but can't talk the wife into it...

I saw two Floyd Tribute Bands... One was Crazy Diamond... saw them twice and they were very impressive both times. Saw another called the Machine who was good but not quite as polished... If you ever run across Crazy Diamond I would highly recommend seeing them.

THE IRON MAIDENS, all female tribute to the great IRON MAIDEN. They rock hard and have one HAWT bass player to boot.
