My questions again (survey)
We'll I made that long post lastnight about my feel for music and questions about it. Only to be linked to a music forum. This is interesting for some reason it didn't appear on my list. I don't understand why nor do I care now (I feel a little stupid now since I couldn't see it, but then again I guess every dog has his day eh?).
My questions are still to be asked. 1) How does music effect your life? 2) What kind of music do you enjoy? Why? 3) If music effects your life in a possitive way, why? Is it helpful with many problems? 4) If music effects your life in a negative way, is there a reason? 5) Is there a band you've found that made a significant change torward your life? If so why? Note: I'll end up asking more questions as I move further into the survey. I'm asking this for a personal survey that I'm trying to conduct. I hope everyone can give me responses I desire, do not be affraid to help. Thanks |

1) I listen to it all the time. It makes time go by faster in bad/boring situations. It affects my life because it can put a spin on any situation.
2) I enjoy all music. I believe if it has an infectious groove, then it's all sweet in my book. 3) It can put you in a good mood and make really bad situations not-so-bad. 4) It can put you in a sad mood as well. 5) Metallica, Tom Petty, R.E.M., Smashing Pumpkins, Stone Temple Pilots, the list goes on. All of these artists made a significant change towards my life because I grew up with them and they are a basis for my musical foundation. Metallica is my favorite band of all time. Their lyrics are genious and they definitely have a nicely chilled plate of ambient beats and grooves going on!

Here goes...
1) How does music effect your life? I listen to music 24/7, without music, I feel bored. Music helps get me going. 2) What kind of music do you enjoy? Why? I mostly listen to alternative/punk/heavy metal. I like a screaming guitar, strong bass lines (not pounding like rap). I was introduced to heavy metal when I was 12, and have loved that type of music ever since. 3) If music effects your life in a possitive way, why? Is it helpful with many problems? When I was in school, I'd study with music playing, it seemed to help me remember what I was studying. If I get pissed off about somehting, music helps me get out of my bad mood. 4) If music effects your life in a negative way, is there a reason? None I can think of. 5) Is there a band you've found that made a significant change torward your life? If so why? Well, Judas Priest. This was the first heavy metal band I listened to, and has shaped the music I listen to today. I found The Ramones, and they turned me toward punk music. STP is my all time fav band, then Led, The Who... I could go on and on. |

1 Music is one of the only things that keeps me close to sane. It grounds me in reality, as well as helping me escape from it when I need to. The old songs bring back memories, reminding me of where I came from, and the new ones show me, in a way, the direction I am going, and my head space at the time. I.E., I'm listening to a lot of depressing songs, what the hell is wrong with me now?
2 More styles then I can list. Not to big on emo and country, other then that, name a style, and I probably have at least 5 CD's of it. 3 A good song can bring me out of a funk when I hit one. Also, I found Rob Zombie's Super Beast is GREAT for running to. 4 Example, Blink182's Adam's Song. First time I heard it was right after a friend of mine killed himself. The next half hour curled up on the floor crying my eyes out and just generaly feeling like a teenage tradgidy was pretty negative in my eyes. 5 I'm not to sure if I can nail this one down. Kevin Gilbet, God rest his soul, has really made an impact on me. Some of the most inteligent and emotionaly hard hitting lyrics I have ever heard. He is another one that had me curled up in a ball, by the way, but some of his songs, though sad, leave me feeling a bit better about life when they are over. I hope this helps.
