Music at work?
I love listening to music at work. Helps keep me in a good mood and pass the time when I'm not overly busy (sorta like posting on here).
Here is the situation though: My department just relocated to a much smaller room than we were in. In accordance our cubes got smaller and more tightly bunched. I do not want to offend anyone by playing my music too loud but headphones would be difficult because I use a headset for my phone. Should I refrain from playing music at work?

Set your music at a low level (where you feel you can still hear it sufficiently), and ask your officemates if that volume level bothers them while they work. Tell them to please let you know if the music is ever bugging them. By doing this, you set a very courteous example and your officemates will have no right to get angry at you if your music is bothering them - you've asked them to talk to you about it.

I've got a radio here at work that I keep pretty low. Nobody has complained about it.
I have to have some sort of background noise. If I dont it drives me nuts.

Either use headphones or keep it way down to keep from bothering other people... You are after all supposed to be working. It really depends on the work environment and what your job is. But a little music usually doesnt hurt
This summer I just brought my new iPod with me to work. That worked pretty well. Before, I used to either bring a few cds and headphones to play them on the computer, or I would just go to the public library nextdoor and pick out something from their rather considerable jazz and classical collections.
