Help!
I've come to you, Titled Music, when I need you most! You've been reliable before, so I know you won't let me down. Well, with Valentine's Day lurking over the horizon, I am embarking on a 'mix tape' type of playlist. However, this isn't your usual crappy love song fest. I'm making this CD for my ex-girlfriend, and the average love song isn't going to cut it. Long story short, I screwed up pretty big. So what I need is songs that are more of 'apologies' if you catch my drift. Also important to note that she didn't leave me, I left her, so anything like "Baby Come Back!" isn't going to work. Which is why I'm finding myself in a predicament.
I've been trying to get different, this isn't a conventional Valentine's CD, I've been treating it as more applicable to non-valentines so it won't have that ham 'n cheese effect. I think a good example of a song I already have in here is "Trouble" by Coldplay or "Work it Out" by Jurassic 5. I am hopeful to see what you guys can come up with, and I'll be ever grateful!

I'll take any ideas at this point, the more apologetic the better.

-----Added 2/2/2009 at 06 : 56 : 49----- Actually, I found an acoustic version on youtube slowed down when I searched for this, and it's GREAT! It was a live studio acoustic thing, so hopefully I can find an mp3 of it slowed down like it is on the video. Maybe if worse comes to worse I can record it off the video but it will probably sound bad that way. -----Added 2/2/2009 at 07 : 03 : 39----- This is excellent -----Added 2/2/2009 at 08 : 15 : 33----- Quote:
1) Was on youtube with a soap clip, and I'm sorry to admit this but that was like swallowing a friggin brick, it hit a little too close to home. (Actually thats false, I was listening/watching Bitter the song not the album, though I assume its from the same album.) Also, I'm loving this automerge thing. It's AWESOME.

I do talk to her. I talk to her on a regular basis. I'm trying to do something nice here, so that'd be why I'm making her some music to listen to. No need to take it to a personal level, since that is not the intention of this thread. Unless you have some tracks to contribute? Thanks.

Deceptive title, thread lacks paperclip and cleaning supply IEDs. Would not read again.
Good luck, though! I have nothing to contribute other than Sorry by Buckcherry, which may be overly literal. Quote:
incidental asside: I always chuckle at this song, since I picture it being written to his girlfriend to apologize for Crazy Bitch.

Sorry guys. I figured that by posting in Tilted Music the focus would go to the Music aspect of the problem. To make it clear, I'm not looking for relationship help, otherwise this would be in general discussion or somewhere else. This thread is about me finding tracks for a disc.

"Title of the Song" by Da Vinci's Notebook. It's very meta, and yet appropriate to your situtation. The refrain:
"Title of the song Naive expression of love Reluctance to accept that you are gone Request to turn back time And rectify my wrongs... Repetition of the title of the song" Static image video:

Sorry, I wasn't poking at you at all. There are just some who may think this was about my relationship when it is not. End of story. Though I did think it was funny that you found the Buckcherry song an apology for 'Crazy Bitch' ! -----Added 4/2/2009 at 05 : 54 : 25----- Quote:
Wow, that is a really interesting format to write the song in! Almost makes the situation seem really stereotypical.

Your Ex-Lover is Dead - Stars
Take me to the riot - Stars California - Sarah Slean Get Home - Sarah Slean Your wish is my wish - Sarah Slean Star Witness - Neko Case Please Call me baby - Tom Waits Nothing Better - The Postal Service Give it a night (we'll work it out) - Bella Anyone Else, but you - The Moldy Peaches (this would be a really nice song to end on. It is not too desperate but has a light note on the end) Good Luck Last edited by creepysusie; 02-04-2009 at 06:08 PM.. |

Oh, I don't know... the Florida-based 38 Special band made a lot of "baby come back" hits.

Actually, in second look, this song is great. Well, I wouldn't call it a great song, because I've heard it before and I don't really like Buckcherry at all, but the lyrics are on point as far as pertaining to the subject.

Okay here we go. Thanks to all you who gave me songs, ideas, and everything else. A lot of the suggestions were good but I didn't have the songs and couldn't readily find an MP3. Here's the list for those of you who are interested, it's surprisingly long:
Disc 1: - The Flaming Lips "Do You Realize??" - Air "Cherry Blossom Girl" - Death Cab for Cutie "I Will Posses Your Heart" - Jimi Hendrix Experience "One Rainy Wish" - David Bowie "Let Me Sleep Beside You" - De La Soul "Eye Know" - Bob Dylan "Lay Lady, Lay" - Lauryn Hill "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" - Tom Petty "You Wreck Me" - The Who "Go To The Mirror!" - The Osmonds "Hold Her Tight" - Mos Def "Love" - Frou Frou "Hear Me Out" - Incubus "Dig" - 311 "Love Song" - Al Green "Look What You Done For Me" - John Mayer "Back to You" - The Feeling "Never Be Lonely" - Tom Petty "Listen to Her Heart" - Jurassic 5 "Work it Out" Disc 2 - The Who "Love Reign O'er Me" - The Beatles "Yesterday" - John Mayer "Dreaming With A Broken Heart" - Kanye West "Coldest Winter" - Coldplay "Trouble" - The Shins "Pink Bullets" - John Mayer "Comfortable" - Ray LaMontagne "Let it Be Me" - Emerson, Lake & Palmer "From the Beginning" - Tom Petty "Angel Dream (No. 2)" - Death Cab for Cutie "I Will Follow You Into The Dark" - Gary Allan "Learning How To Bend" - John Lennon "Jealous Guy" - Norah Jones "Thinking About You" - Rocco Deluca and The Burden "Mystified" - Jason Mraz "I'm Yours" - Paul McCartney "Maybe I'm Amazed" - The Velvet Underground "Sunday Morning" - Jackson 5 "I Want You Back" - The Moldy Peaches "Anyone Else But You"
