If the vehicle gets sent to the shop for the same repair for up to 3 or more times for the same repair or is down for longer the 30 days it is considered a lemon and is supposed to be purchased back by the manufacturer under state laws.
Every state has it's own lemon laws please see the following link for your states: http://autopedia.com/html/HotLinks_Lemon2.html You DO NOT need to get an attorney to get a car returned under the lemon law. Keep all copies of service records or go to any dealer and ask for a print out of the history of your vehicle(service dept and give them the VIN#) They must provide you with this information. If you find that you fall under the lemon law try to settle with the dealership, but your best bet is to contact the manufacturer. If the vehicle was purchased used and had no factory warranty remaining, the only way to get out is to show that the dealer frauded you. If they did fraud you under the purchase make a complaint to the Motor Vehicle Dept. as they are licensed by them. Hope this helps

Nash,
I can help you with the purchase of a new or used car. I can make sure you don't get ripped on the price or financing. Let me know what vehicles you are considering and I will explain which one will be the best for your dollar bills. Used cars is where most dealers make TONS of PROFIT, and also try to sell you shit. NEVER....NEVER buy from the guy on the corner with only 10 to 15 cars, these are wholesalers and they sell the shit the big boys don't want or vehicles that have been in accidents, framed or just plain pieces of SHIT!! (they make them look real purrrty though

I bought a used car from a my mother's colleague about 2 years ago and its been running suprisingly well. They didn't want to sell it to a dealer because the dealers didn't give it much value (because of cosmetic stuff and broken AC, nonessential things like that).
Back then, I didn't know what to research for beforehand and what to check for when examining the car. I guess I've been extremely lucky that there's nothing wrong with it so far. (Just some sounds from the rear when I have to take sharp turns, but that's probably for another thread) What about buying from a mechanic? Sometimes they have one or two cars for sale in their shop. We weren't really considering it but a mechanic offered. |
