Dumped my Caddy..........
for a Volvo S60 *sniffle sniffle*
Yea I finally did it after 7 years, I sold my 88 Sedan Deville with only 77k original miles and bought me a 2001 S60 with only 31k on it...........I miss my Caddy Now first off those of you who know I work for Mercedes are asking why don't I own one..........fuck that..........they're too damn expensive and the Volvo was to good a deal to pass up. You see I was at the auction standing there and watching the bids on a Volvo that I was buying for someone else and the highest the bid got was 15,400 on this S60......so I did a quick raise of my hand and it was mine...........15,500, now wholesale book was 17,600 and retail was 22,700.....so I said what the fuck!! IT DOES NOT HAVE THAT CADDY RIDE!! You know the one thing that sets Cadillac from all the rest if you've ever riden in one on the freeway is the RIDE...........that sweet Cadillac ride.........smooth and you don't feel a damn thing in the road. Shit my Caddy was sweet and in immaculant condition and now the fuker that I sold it to won't sell it back to me.......well he would but he wants 3 times what I sold it to him for, and I was doing him a favor because he needed a car............the lil fucker! Anyhoo, I guess I'll hold on to the Volvo until a 59 Caddy comes along ......*keep dreamin right* Shit I don't know why I really did it but for now I'm stuck with it, and after a few days I'm sure it will be a nice car(hell it corners well) and I will begin to enjoy it. One thing is for certain though......I'm going to get me another Caddy

Take the Volvo out on some twisty roads. The ability to take corners without wallowing and plowing and boinging and squealing the tires might make you miss that soft ride a little less.
I'll never forget one time when I was driving a friend's '86 Buick Riviera. I made the mistake of assuming I could keep up with the *potato chip delivery truck* in front of me on a twisty offramp. I kept turning the wheel more and more, it just kept leaning and plowing toward the outer edge of the road with the tires squealing wildly, and almost hit the guardrail. Meanwhile the truck went right on going without a problem. Granted it did have 190k miles on the original factory shocks at the time... |

"Granted it did have 190k miles on the original factory shocks at the time"
or, in other words, about 3 times what those shocks/struts are good for. no wonder it wanted to plow so bad.

I'm presuming your since it was an 88 was a boxy style one. I own a 87 and I tell you I agree with you 100% about the ride. sure mine isn't fast but nothing beats that smooth ride.

This sentiment comes from a college student, so take it with a grain of salt, but...
Keyser, I hate you for complaining about grabbing a $23,000 car for $15,500. If you feel the need to ever sell that S60 for dirt cheap, you just let me know, and I'll take it off your hands.
