My Car (sort of)
Ive been building this model in 3d Studio Max5 on and off for quite awhile now. Since this is the motor forum, I thought Id post it here for you guys to see. This is the closest I can get to the car I want right now, so this is it.
Also, I could use your guys help. I want to model a big block engine to drop in this thing, but I cant find good front, side, top shots of a motor. I use them in my viewports to model to, to make sure the part is correct. Anyone got anything I can use? |

Wow, I'm really impressed, I have used 3dsmax4, and I can't do anything. I'm sorry I don't have anything to help you out, but I'll look. Those look really cool, keep up the nice work

Im been workin it on and off for about 2 months now. But actual time spent is 25-30 hrs roughly. This is only the second mesh Ive ever done, the first was a model of Optimus Prime. Im happy with the way this one is going, but its moving slowly, Im trying to do the best I can.
With any luck, by the time this things done, itll have a full engine underneath the hood and a full interior and chassis. |

that would be very cool... make sure you post the full thing when its done... if you made some movie clips so we could get an all around view that would be very cool too..

Thanks for the comments guys, glad u like it.
Well, I started on some more stuff for this thing, like the license plate area and rear bumper, which I had forgotten about. The bumper is still a WIP, its turned out to be a pain to get right. I went ahead and rendered in a couple different colors, the green was a recommendation from Psycho Path, I like it. |

i can't say much about 3D rendering skills, you look like you are pretty good at it. however i will make note that it looks like the roof is too small. it looks like someone shrunk the top of the car.
i'm not trying to be really critical or anything, it looks great, it's just that if no one tells you what you can work on then how would you ever get better?

Im glad u guys like it, thnx.
Tech, I have no problem with anyone offering tips or critiques. As best I can tell the roof is right, however, the rear window is a little too wide and wraps around the curve of the body more than it should. That may be whats making you think the roof is too small. Unfortunatly, Im too far along now to fix this cleanly, so itll have to stay. Thats something Ill be sure to watch better when and if I do a version 2. |

Don't know if this is too late but your work is amazing. The only thing that I would say is that the steering collumn seems like if you could see where it continued into the dash it would be just below the middle of the two big dials. It seems to disappear. I love the whole project, keep it up!!!!!
