The 3.0L Mitsubishi/Chrysler 160 HP V6 of my 1992 Plymouth Voyager...the van in this picture isn't mine, though. Mine is in much better shape.

That's my Mark VIII.

Anyone here have a Taurus SHO? The V6s had the coolest looking engine compartments.

If this thread is still alive when I pick up my Chrysler Daytona Shelby-Z, I will snap some shots of it. Its got a 2.2L Turbo in it! I'm getting the engine rebuilt as soon as I get it!

ugh.... so many of the engines are all nice and clean and shiney... mine looks like a big mud/dirt/grime/oil coated thing... im too embarassed

so how would one clean an engine up? a friend of mine said just get a pressure nozzle and spray everything down while the engines running? i would think that could cause probs... like getting water in the air intake or somethin??

im not too positive how to clean it, but if you do...do not do it while the engine is running. Because of all the electrical connections and high pressure water, it just makes sense to me to do it while the battery is disconected, or while no power is running through it. Let it dry, then run the engine. Maybe thats wrong, but it seems logical enough to me.

Haha dont worry JStrider,
Both the 350 in my truck and the 1.6L in my fiat are good and dirty. It shows that the cars are actually driven, hehe.
I clean them every once and a while. I have found the easiest was is to go down to one of those self-service car washes. The ones in my town have a dereaser you can spray on and then pressure wash off with hot water. Back when he had it, I would also use my boss's Hotsy Steam cleaner. Boiling water and soap at 1500 psi did a pretty good job on the grease....

oh yeah, and turn the engine off, and try not to directly blast your distributor or your car's computer if its in the engine compartment.
