And yes, I know what a Wankel is. Rebuilt a 13b for my Senior project in Auto Shop back in HS.

Thanks. That's an old pic. Not much changed just a bigger turbo. In that pic the car had a TA-49 on it, now it has a T-70.

Yeah...he is a friend of mine. He said it took him about 3 months to do it all, but he was only working on it on nights and weekends.

I think the hardest part was matching the flywheel to the transmission (trannys are in the rear of 928s).

It's quite a quick car for a 3 speed automatic (later 928 autos had 4 speed auto trannies). Manuals were always 5 speed.

With his 3 speed auto tranny, he was getting 13.5 100mph+ quarter mile times.....and he hasn't even tuned it in yet.

Here's a link to some photos another buddy of mine took when we all hit the drag strip this past summer:

Yeah, both engine bays need cleaning and detailing. I'll get to that before winter, I hope.

Looks like you've got a big project ahead of you. If you want to clean as you go, try some Simple Green or (believe it or not) "Gunk". It really helps to break down old dirt and grime.

Ill hafta find the article, but if ya use simple green be careful. Many harsh cleaners, particularly that one, can really fubar your aluminum.

Lol I just helped a friend replace his.....the previous owner of his let the car go 50,000 Miles over the recommended mileage for the timing belt change....resulting in two exhaust valves wedged into two pistons.

Well, nothing really concrete yet, but the prelims are:
462 cube big block Chevy
Dart Iron Eagle or World Products Merlin heads
Large-ish solid roller cam on wide LSA
Victor Jr. intake
two Air Research or Gerrett T04 turbos

Something like that. Not much is in stone yet so it may grow to a 502 if I get rich. I'm hoping for about 1200 streetable hp on pump gas. I think it can do it with two T04's. I will go as big as I need until money runs out. Which is never far enough!
