One day in my mechanics class the teacher was absent, so he left us an assignment on safety, and we watched a video.

Anyway, this guy was doing about 150 mph on the autobahn with his Mercedes Kompressor (sp?) Convertible, when suddenly he hits a guardrail and flips over. So here this poor bastard is streaking along the side of the autobahn in an upside down convertible at 150 mph. Then he slowly decelerates and stops right near the security camera (which you're watching this through). Then you think for sure the guy's dead, because there's no activity for about 15 seconds. Then he crawls out the window, stands up and looks at his car, arms crossed. End Video.

What saved his life was a roll bar that flips up as soon as the car is tilted more than about 30 degrees either way, to save you in an accident like this.

Cool to watch.

Do you think this video can be found on the net?

I managed to hit the side of a garage while backing out when I was younger.

Been pretty lucky ever since.

i was going down a road that was under constuction. so the lanes on both sides were smaller and people were freaking outand looking at what was going on, like they haven't seen the road under construction before. i was going about 20 mph and riding close to the car infront of me to get through the intersection to make sure there was room whe nthe light changed for someoneto get in behind me. well the guy infront of me decidedto slam on his brakes for really no reason so i hit him and then he hit the gas and plowed into a 2001 BMW 540 and totaled the back of it. no one was hurt and the guy in the BMW was like "ohh there are just cars as long as everyone is ok" i mean that's cool and all but damn dood your nice car just got creamed. it was obviously my fault . only $600 in damage done to my truck, not sur about the other cars. and i missed my damn hair cut :/

Early 90's and I was driving my '76 Jeep CJ-5. I hit an on-ramp going a tad fast, and hit the brakes. Nothing scary mind you, just prudently slowing down. I hear a 'pop' (brake line) and left side front brake totally locks. My front end dips and slews to the right and the jeep starts spinning. I remember nothing of the actual accident, but a witness behind me said that the Jeep cartwheeled along the guardrail 4-5 times.

I come to with the Jeep laying on the left side with my body completely rigid (adrenaline). No injuries. I put my hand down to brace myself to be able to get out of the vehicle and wind up putting it into a pile of broken glass from the mirror. So I rolled the vehicle multiple times and walked away with a cut on one finger and some seriously pulled back and shoulder muscles.

The best part was that everyone behind me was in shock, that I survived, over the accident, etc. So I had to mobilize people to get the stupid Jeep turned back on its' wheels and out of the traffic lane. My Dad and I rebuit said Jeep and still have it. Great vehicle.
