I am impressed. I have never purchased any driver swag before Sat. I shelled out $40 for a Hamilton/Mercedes McLaren shiny silver hat. He never put a wheel wrong all weekend. Alonso is still beating the rest of the field, like has has done for the past two season. The difference is, he can't beat Lewis. Vettels did one hell of a job. Racing in F1 at 19? What in the hell were you doing at 19?
Fun weekend. Too damned hot but lots of fun. I sure hope Bernie will bring them back to Indy. |

I can't believe that Alonso is taking all of this very well. I'm sure he is questioning who the number one driver at the team is after this. Sure Fissi took a race or two here and there but never at the expense of Alonso's championship fights.

I saw that pigeon...evaporate. Prolly didn't even feel a thing lol. Fisichella is no Hamilton is he...never was. He was fast, but he's...Italian. Not a good temperament for F1. Varsha mentioned the Prost/Senna rivalry as comparabale to the Alonso/Hamilton rivalry...I think he's got a good point. Things could get ugly pretty fast at McLaren if Alonso doesn't start winning races. Hamilton has been immersed in the McLaren culture since he was a young child, not so Alonso. Lets see how the Spaniard handles it.
Here's Hamilton in karts, age 13, perfecting those blocking skills he puts to good use in F1. <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/xDgpS4kx88s"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/xDgpS4kx88s" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object> |

Sad day for this race fan. No more F1 at IMS. I made it to all 8 USGPs at Indy. Most of them for more than the race. This year might have been the best race however nothing will ever beat that first Friday morning practice in 2000. I stood in awe as they screamed towards T1. I can't believe that the race wasn't more popular, vitrually no domestic sponsorship. I've been in a foul mood ever since I found out earlier today. Fuck.....

Ooo, we have F1 fans here? Awesome....
I went to Indy once, I think it would have been the 2nd year. I agree with the comment about the first time you hear the engines approaching -- boy oh boy there's nothing like it. And the vintage F1s they had on display were also awesome.... they had a '67 Eagle -- I'm a nut for that era. It's nice to see a bit of a shakeup in F1 this year - Hamilton is indeed very likeable AND a very good driver! |
