who answers to no name
instead of your voice
all thats left is
tumbleweeds and dust

I have started a story
these pages of my life
among the many words
tear stained, of learning
of Life, Love, and Loss
in some places void of ink
jagged edges of desperation
while the memories remain
though the pen finally stops
the story doesn't end
instead, it simply joins
the voices of the past

to a tune I cannot hear and
pull on strings I cannot see and
stir up a frenzy .... until one day
There's a hint of a whisper
of a voice from long ago who
speaks in tongues I used to know
but like a woman on a train
I kept my seat instead so
the writing on the wall remains
still a mystery ... though
wind shifts the hands of time
and the lands that I once knew
covered deep beneath the sand
their secrets hidden once again
