My poetry thread
With the mod's (silent) permission I wish to start my own poetry thread...
And to kick it off, here is the weirdest poem I ever wrote. Weird because when I wrote it, I was completely sober, but I wrote it from a female perspective. ![]() I'm a healthy heterosexual guy, but somehow a cliché image of a beautiful woman dressed in white, running out of a cabin through a field of tall grass and flowers and into the arms of a loved one got into my head and flowed in the keyboard. I thought about changing 'he' to 'she' but somehow it wouldn't seem right. Anyway, like I said... strange. I've never shown this to anyone so I doubted a long time as to whether or not to post this, but to hell with it... 'When he arrives' A morning-flower, One petal damp I run by it in your open arms It's beauty paled by your very presence Like a teardrop the dew glides down your stem like it streams across my face Guess we both love to see the morning when he arrives

Something I wrote when I was listening to Linkin Park - Runaway and thinking about my parents...
'A Teenagers Anthem' Day by day He prays to God For release From this terrible place There's not a memory here Not one he wouldn't replace He suffers here Each moment is agony Agony in heart and soul They do such horrid things They'll never give him a chance To fly by his own wings They make him wanna get away To a place where he can be alone They make him wanna run away Run away from home

I can't remember when I wrote this one, but it is one of my favorites.
'The splendour of a star' I see your face You seem so small In such a small place One million miles away Yet every night you show yourself On the other side of day What a lonely life you live Alone in that vacant place You seem so much like me Alone in outer space

I wrote this to impress a girl that turned out not to even be interested in me.
'Angel' One step above a mortal girl The way you move the words you say Time with you seems so unreal You truly amaze me and every single day I find out something new This reality with you It's better than a dream It moves my spirit My indistructable soul It falls to pieces Every time you're here You're more than a human Without you I am empty With you I am whole You must be an angel

A new emotion I wanted to word, anger:
'Victor' One by one The soldiers fall Like rotten leaves He sees them all Murderers and thieves They fought well But not enough One man Robbbed them all Of what they sought His money His fame Whatever it may be They were blind Not to see That HE is the victor

I felt like writing something but had no subject, thus this poem was born.
![]() 'Burning inside' Could I but describe what I feel It would be poetry It would shine so bright Like the light of a thousand suns Cast upon the moon that is me Blinded by this energy I do all but shine I take it all in and make it mine Inside it is ready to burst But not ready enough My hands are numb The light feels heavy in its sum It weighs on my heart Knows no rest But torments me relentless Until I cease to supress That feeling inside me

A poem I wrote when slightly buzzed... somehow I always seem to write my best stuff when I'm buzzed :s
It's actually published and recorded to CD. Which is pretty cool. 'The Jury' What is Truth? Nothing of truth Has come to bare A fortnight long They sat and stared With words they try Explain as they might, One word to say it all Return this mans pride? One diamond, cut and shaped Explains it all Why no singular truth Ever stands tall One karat reflects half, Yet none reflect it all

You're just saying that because you love me, but I love you for saying it.
![]() Anyway, here's to you babe, a poem I wrote when I thought about koli70, it's kindof lame, but the thought behind it is very real. 'Inet love' Eventhough you're not here I love you so Although you're far away I hold your name dear Seems like every time we chat I treasure the entire day You seem so real Yet you're miles from where I'm at And when you say you love me It's something I really feel You send me letters That feel so real I regret that you're not here So I could make you mine Kiss you, hug you Together we make love, the real kind It's not us It's love we redefine
