That is incredible for Weight Watchers!!! Are you staying within your daily allottment each day? Has your counselor made any mention that it's about 2-3 times over the normal weekly loss?
Toward the end, when goal was in sight, I kept losing about 1.5-2 lbs a week and even then I was told to be wary. Once I hit goal, I had to maintain for 6 weeks, but I continued to drop weight to the point they had me on 40 points a day and was warned that one more pound and I was out....I got lifetime after the 6 weeks, 1 lb over minimum for my size and 7 under the initial goal.
Be careful!! Use those points!!

Martian 06-18-2005 11:04 PM

I've been avoiding this, because I know I haven't been eating well and that this was coming. Oh, well. I jumped on the scale and I'm down to 136 lbs (yeah, my weight fluctuates really quickly). Gotta get intot he habit of eating more regularly!

cellophanedeity 06-20-2005 04:44 AM

Week one: Lost a pound. Don't feel any better.

this week should be better.

kurty[B] 06-20-2005 06:30 AM

It's been a while since I last updated, but I weighed in at 179 over the weekend.

6/19 - 179 (loss 5 lbs).

ktspktsp 06-21-2005 07:04 PM

Last month, I noticed that I had gained about 5 pounds since I started working... Super-sedentary lifestyle... I started going to the gym recently, and have cut down on my calories (been eating a lot of salads, mostly *). I've dropped 3 pounds and still have two to go.

I've always been rather slim, and can certainly get away with 5 extra pounds.. But I wanted to see if I had the will to lose weight. This is the first time I've actively tried to control my food intake, and I certainly see how it can be a struggle (and I'm only going for a few pounds)! So congrats for all the people losing weight, and hang in there to the ones trying to do so.

*: and veggie burgers and fish :)

Mister Coaster 06-25-2005 06:18 AM

6-25-2005 276 lbs.

It was a good week and I'm back on track.

calvin88 06-27-2005 12:14 AM

a hah i guess ill join this thread too. ive been not fat, but not toned my whole life. always been the bigger person i guess. Im like 6'1 currently 207 but i have a large build. Goal is to get down to 195 because i weightlift almost everyday. However i feel as if i fluctuate up and down 5 pounds forever for the past 2-3 years. Even though i don't really eat and sweets and i play basketball for about 2/5 hours a day after i weightlift, my weight just stays there.

FrellingSmeg 07-02-2005 02:52 PM

I was stuck at 215 2 weeks ago, now I am down to 210. I think I would be a little lower than that, but I did some cheating this week. I'm pretty pleased with my progress. I've actually decided to lower my goal from 200 to 190.

ktspktsp 07-03-2005 11:32 AM

Done with the last two pounds.. yay.

Now I can focus on gaining weight by gaining muscle, which is my goal.

ratbastid 07-03-2005 07:48 PM

I'm chosing to eat as I please over the 4th of july holiday weekend. I'm well aware I'll likely gain a few pounds, but I'm now clear what there is to do to take those off, and I plan to have this weight gone by the 15th.

Mister Coaster 07-03-2005 09:07 PM

After a few days taken off (for good reason) I still managed to lose 3 lbs. That reason being the birth of my daughter. A healthy 6lb, 11oz girl. Born 6-27 at 1:42 am. Mrs. Coaster is doing fine too.

7-3-2005: 273 lbs.
Hospital food blows, and doesn't care what kind of diet you are on...

kurty[B] 07-07-2005 07:12 AM

Congratulations Mr. Coaster.

After a week on vacation and having lots of delicious food all the time I'm back to 183.

Overall loss since beginning my workout routine now is 1 lb. Back to the beginning for me :)

amonkie 07-07-2005 08:43 AM

Congrats Mister Coaster! :)

Even with the 4th, lost 3 lbs - primarily due to a Dr. prescribed allergy elimination diet, but has also been a good detox diet. It made a huge difference in how my body felt to cut out ALL processed foods. Total for me since March 17, as of yesterday : Current weight 176, total loss 25 lbs.

MSD 07-11-2005 06:49 PM

I started a new job a few weeks before the new year. My back pain and knee pain were so bad that I had to either quit or lose weight. Working through winter wasn't bad, but when spring came, temperatures in the garage got to 100°F+, and combined with the long distance from a refrigerator while on the job, the minor weight loss became major.

Start weight (Dec. 14 2004) 300.4
Current weight (July 11, 2005) 272.3

40 pounds to go. I might just keep this job after all.

Martian 07-12-2005 01:00 AM

Woops, gotta get into the habit of posting regularly here. Well, I'm currently 141 pounds. A lot of that is fat, though. I was bemoaning the lack of definition in my abs the other day and my girlfriend has therefore taken to calling me fatty. Just one more reason to go for that six pack again, I guess.

ktspktsp 07-12-2005 02:18 PM

Martian, have you seen the thread about the 8-minute abs video? You can find it on Kazaa (or rather use Shareaza) if you search. Anyway, I'm about your weight, and for the last month I started doing the exercises in the video about 3 times a week, I'm starting to see some definition in there. So give it a shot! :)

Grasshopper Green 07-12-2005 03:22 PM

Ok, I haven't posted in almost a month. I'm still at 144. I'm actually ok with this, because for two weeks I ate HORRIBLY and didn't go to the gym once...and I managed to stay the same and not put any on. I've gotten back to the gym though, and now that I can focus on this a little more, I'm going to be back at it.

forseti-6 07-12-2005 03:45 PM

I'll join in.
7/12/05 167

I want to get back down to 150. I'm 68" tall.

Martian 07-13-2005 03:44 AM

ktspktsp - Thanks for the advice. I have my own techniques that worked in the past. Takes a bit longer than 8 minutes granted, but I tend to stick with what works for me.

ratbastid 07-16-2005 05:45 AM

This morning's weigh-in was 220, down 7.0 from my last weigh-in three weeks ago, down 25.0 overall and just over 10% lost! I got my keychain! Woo hooooooo!

Mister Coaster 07-16-2005 07:29 AM

7-15-2005: 268lbs, that was yesterday. After a day of eating whatever the hell I wanted to (yesterday being my birthday) I was back up to 270. Meh, you have to go nuts on your friggin' birthday, right?

And I might add that the rib-eye steak I had for dinner was incredible... first big steak I've eaten in over 3 months!

Kubz18 07-16-2005 11:27 AM

now that i started a job in a jail, i need to start putting muscle on since i will be dealing with harden criminals everyday that probably dont like me so ive been working out, we'll see how this works out.. i have stayed faily active but since recently turning 21 here alcohol intake has increased a little too much...so now im gonna work on it

7-16-05
206.4

kurty[B] 07-18-2005 09:29 AM

awesome ratbastid.

I'm back down to 179 lbs, but for some reason am having trouble getting under that mark. It'll happen, just have to keep working at it.

FrellingSmeg 07-18-2005 05:05 PM

When I went to my MEPS (Military enterance... something somthing) back in Feburary, I was 235 pounds. I went for my recheck today and I am down to 204. I knew I was losing weight, but I never really went back to compare it to what I was.

I'm pretty happy.

Mister Coaster 07-23-2005 09:26 AM

7-23-05 Down to 264. That's a total loss of 46 lbs.

Every overweight person that I work with is coming to me asking what I'm doing. I'm also being called "Slim" at work, which I think is still a stretch. Yes, I'm a lot slimmer than I was, but to be considered truly slim, I still have quite a way to go.

Lebell 07-23-2005 04:48 PM

Well, I saw the thread awhile ago, but sexymama and I have been looking to get healthier for a while now, so last week we both joined WW.

I'm down about 5 lbs (weighed with shoes last week, so I know those are about 3 lbs.)

We'll see how this goes.

Ustwo 07-24-2005 09:44 AM

I did Atkins for about 2 months and lost about 15lbs or so. The problem I have with adkins is that its harder to avoid carbs than count calories, so a few days ago I switched to low cal.

I did a few of those 'calculate your intake' and for light exercise (I erred on the side of caution, I'm most likely over 'light') for someone my size it estimated I needed 2990 calories a day to maintain.

Well the last few days I have been doing around 1400 a day, and I haven't been overly hungry either. I know that it would be considered to low, and I've lost 3 lbs in....2 days.

Should be interesting to see how this goes. I've also been hitting the gym for the last month or so and I've seen some pretty good gains so far.

sexymama 07-26-2005 07:26 AM

With the birth of baby Lebell and breast feeding, I'm down 25 lbs.

Joined WW last week (LOVING IT!) and lost 4 more. My goal is to get rid of 55 more pounds for a total of 84 lbs. More then that, I want to change my eating habits in order to live a long and healthy life. To be 43 and a mother of a newborn is risky enough. I want to be around when he is getting married and having children of his own!

Ratbastid -- you inspire me!

Mister Coaster 08-02-2005 06:46 AM

8-2-2005: I've hit the big five - oh. No, not in years, in pounds! This morning I weighed in at 260, which represents a total loss of 50 pounds!!! I also went out and bought some new pants, waist size of 40". And although I had never actually purchased anything larger than 44's, I do remember the tux I got married in came to me with a waist size of 48", yowsa.

The Casual Male "Big & Tall" store will be receiving no more of my business, thank you very much.

I look forward to this day. Huge congrats :)

Catdaddy33 08-03-2005 03:41 AM

I'm gonna hop on this bandwagon.

I officially started 10 days ago but didn't weigh myself until Tuesday (8 days ago) and weighed in at 258lbs. This morning I was down 11lbs to 247. I weighed once this past weekend and was down 6lbs and was surprised at the 11. My plan was to cut out all soft drinks and junk food and cut back to 1500 cals a day, I joined a gym yesterday and plan on working out at least every other day. I know the quick weight loss was a combo of cutting out my 32oz of Coke and decreasing my calorie intake, so it will be harder going forward.

Right now I'm motivated to lose, but I know as time goes on temptation will increase, (pizza commercials on TV kill me), but I plan on getting healthy and in shape, if not for me for my wife and daughter.

Is anyone doing the online Weight Watchers? I'd prefer that to having to go to meetings...

Ustwo 08-04-2005 06:40 AM

I have to admit that having a child was a big motivator for me. Its not fair to a kid if his dad kicks off early due to poor health, seems I'm not alone in this.

I started at about 235 with a goal of 205. I also started working out as of the middle of June.

Currently I'm 212, and its nice that the old tired mark in the belt is now a notch or two past its former norm.

Last night I did the wife test. I asked her if I should keep losing, and she pointed out my now slight but still there love handles and the touch of belly left, so I guess my 205 mark was pretty well on the money, maybe even 200 but that will most likely be too low unless I stop working out.

Congrats to everyone keeping with this.

sexymama 08-06-2005 09:50 AM

Three weeks of changing my life style and down 7 lbs total. Not bad as woman loose so much slower then men!

Ustwo 08-07-2005 10:37 PM

Went shopping today.

Down to a 36 inch waist from a 40, which I have been for about 3 years, and a 38 for god knows how long before that.

34 is the lowest I recall having in 'adult' years so just about there.

The big difference is that the gut is not the determining factor but the hip bones, my work pants were close to falling off me.

Xero 08-12-2005 12:13 AM

Ill join this thread.. not really to lose weight but to sustain it and maybe gain a few pounds... I do have a stomach, its not flat or toned, although I plan to tone it... the whole "emo-skinny" if anyone here knows what that it.. anyway I was 150 in april and since then it has been fluctuating around the 140's but from mid june to present it has dropped from 146 to 132, height 5'7. ouch. Im not unhealthy and the only diet I pursue is vegetarianism... so Ill try to keep a log here of toning success with my stomach and of my weight, which will hopefully level off soon. Im currently a size 28 waist(size 32 in april), and a size 7 in girls jeans, which although a guy I wear more often now. easier to find. wish me luck!

amonkie 08-13-2005 04:56 AM

Xero - are you getting enough protein in your diet? I'm just trying to help you out a little, since I've seen too many vegetarians who don't get sufficient protein. That should help with your goal of muscle buildup to keep an eye on that and make sure you're getting enough.

Mister Coaster 08-13-2005 02:01 PM

256 this morning. A total loss of 54 lbs.

I had a tough week, well, I had a tough weekend last week. I partied pretty hardy on Friday night, drinking a lot (beer & booze) and eating a lot of pizza. After that one binge, I managed to gain 3 lbs! No wonder I was so big before. I'd do that every weekend and ate too much during the week.

Catdaddy33 08-13-2005 07:37 PM

A binge every now and then keeps you in line, well, as long as you recognize it... 54 lbs is still something to be proud of!!

wtsitmn 08-14-2005 01:09 PM

Woops, didn't read the date on the original post. Can anybody tell me how to delete a post entirely?

Grasshopper Green 08-17-2005 03:54 PM

Ok, another update for me. I actually went up to 146 (from 144) a few weeks ago...

Weighed at the gym today...down to 142. Whoohoo! The past two weeks I've been going to the gym religiously, and we've cut back to going out to eat once a week. I know it's only 2 (technically, 4) lbs from my initial weight, but I'm still stoked.
