Um, I'm respecting the mod's warning. How about you?

In August of last year I was 240 at 6' tall. Blood pressure 164/108. I am now at 184 and BP at 125/82 with NO meds. Size 33 waist down from 39. It feels great and I have kept it steady. I actually get sick when I overeat now.

Cool thread!
5' 9, 250, down from 275 in February, down four inches, down from a 2XL t shirt to an XL. I've been battling weight all my life. Doing well at 170 until a few years ago. Health went to pot. Going to the gym would leave me bed bound for two or three days. If I didn't eat 3000 calories a day I would get woozy. Turns out I have Celiacs Disease. Allergic to gluten, meaning all bread and breading. The weight I've lost is sans exercise other than hiking and light yoga, and eating a good amount of food. I'm so happy :-) Here in the next few months I'll go back onto a stability-based exercise routine, then go back into a strongman routine. I haven't been able to seriously strength train in years. I miss my dragging sled, and I now have a potential source for a tractor tire to flip :-P. |
Strange Famous..thank you for creating this thread...let's see if it helps. I've been steadily going up in weight for years and just cracked the 290 lb mark. I do play hockey and some floor hockey but not much else and my job is a sit at the computer type job. Just started working out a week and a bit ago and am trying to stay off the desserts, sweets, slurpees, etc.
290 lbs July 28, 2011 To start I'm looking to loose about 60 pounds. I'm hoping by then I'll be feeling good enough to keep going... |

Slowly but surely... both excercise and muscle building as well as watching my portions and food balance. I drink SO much water now. |
165 and hobbit short. I was always a skinny guy (110 when I finished HS) and I packed on the pounds from meds (beer and rum).
This weeks goal is no fast food and lighter lunches. Changing my diet should help tons as cinn's hippy ways means I eat less meat at dinner time. Cutting down on the tastey dead flesh of animals will cause my weight to drop on its on. Like to drop 15lbs or so. |
I started back to the gym at 156 pounds.
I'm not sure why, but I'm at 164 three weeks later, with increased water, better eating habits, and three to four times a week of 30 minutes of cardio and 40 of strength training. But, I have definitely reawakened a lot of muscle, so that's most likely it. S tested out my abs and was very impressed. I think I need to increase cardio, but my head hurts. |
My old bathroom scale was getting erratic. I really can't weigh 94 pounds one day and 122 the next day. So I just got a new scale (Taylor Model 7506 - based on Consumer Reports recommendation, $23 at Amazon.com) and it showed me at 108 this morning. Right where I want to be.:)

Just removing meat from your diet may not do much to help you lose weight. If you were eating a ton of fried meat, maybe, but protein does a lot to help a person shed pounds. Of all the changes I've done to my diet, cutting carbs helped the most, and adding additional animal proteins runs about second. |
