Well, I'm at 60lbs right now, but this week (thanksgiving) will probably be a 0 or possibly even a small gain.

SM and I aren't going crazy at all our meals (I'm making sure I am on task for breakfast and lunch), but we've decided that for family dinner's we're just not worrying about it.

And that's the key: it has to be real and livable.

Saturday it is back on the band wagon until Christmas.

DonovanDuVal 11-26-2005 09:41 AM

Not a good week this week. I have been ill this week so I haven't been at all active and have gained a pound in weight. I now weigh in at 15st 7lbs.

Ah well I hope that next week treats me better.

Catdaddy33 11-28-2005 04:14 AM

I managed to keep the weight off during Thanksgiving, it was hard, as of yesterday I am down 57 lbs to 218..

Great job everyone, esp Lebell hitting 60 lbs lost!! Now is the season everyone brings in food to work...must resist....

Mister Coaster 11-29-2005 08:50 AM

216 this morning, which matches my previous "low point" from a few weeks back. I guess thats good considering I have let the diet slip quite a bit in the last week or 2. I decided to throw caution to the wind on Thanksgiving, it was great.

Mr Scorcex 11-29-2005 04:50 PM

Allright, this thread has re-inspired me to continue with my plan. I had lost some weight earlier this year and even had to start wearing a belt with a pair of my pants. However I couldn't keep myself motivated, I didn't excersize and cheated on my diet.

I was 203 lbs (BMI of almost obese and Body Fat of between 17-19%) when I last weighed myself, and I'm not shooting for any specific goal, but to lose some weight and tone up. Hopefully skiing and longboarding will start to tone me up, and I need to stick to my diet more stringently, cut out soft drinks, eat more protein and whole grains. I don't have access to a scale here at school, but if I eat right and excersize I know I'll be on the right track.

Lebell 11-30-2005 02:12 PM

Thanksgiving was a bust, but SM and I expected that and decided to not worry about it (nor Christmas). Now I'm back to 60lbs down.

If I can lose 5-10lbs during December, I'll consider it a good month.

Keep up the good work everyone!

The key to this whole deal is to make it real and to get back on the wagon no matter how many times you fall off!

Mister Coaster 12-03-2005 10:03 AM

212 today. The end is near! Well, the end of losing weight, that is. I realize this has to be a life-long change if I want to keep it off.

Lebell 12-03-2005 10:31 AM

After a little more than a week on back on the wagon, I'm up to 67 lbs lost...I suspect that thanksgiving was sitting in my bowels last week (a pleasant thought).

I'm on task for December :)

Hadn't read this thread in a while. You're all doing wonderfully, but SF!!!!
Your attitude is defeatist right out of the starting gate! Instead of 'I suppose it's less'....try thinking 'WOW! Down 4 this week!' It took me 6 months to lose 45 lbs, strictly following Weight Watchers, no exercising, and I purposely went off it on weekends. Two lbs or less lost a week, but if I walked out of the store thinking like that, I'd probably have quit.

SF, you alone have to give yourself the willpower and set your goals. Know that everyone here is riding the same train with you, some are in the front is all. Be kind to yourself, ok? :icare:

DonovanDuVal 12-04-2005 05:36 AM

Been a rubbish week for me as I was still ill for most of it. Down one pound back to 15st 6lbs. Hopefully next week will be a good week. Fingers crosses.

Grasshopper Green 12-04-2005 07:35 AM

Well, after a lot of half assed attempts, hubby and I have gone on the Body for Life program. We've done one week, and I'm down to 140 from 144. Most of it was probably water weight, but I'm very happy about it and I'm still as enthusiastic about the program as I was when I started. :)

So, I guess I'll be making my weekly weigh ins here, and posting my before and after pictures when I'm done.

Mister Coaster 12-08-2005 07:30 AM

I am pleased to announce that as of this morning my weight loss has crossed into the realm of triple digits. Yep, that means I've lost 100 lbs!!! Hard to beleive, but true. Only 10 lbs. to go. Once I reach that goal I'll be posting pix in the exibition section.

Lebell 12-08-2005 08:08 AM

HUGE congrats, Mr. Coaster!!!

Catdaddy33 12-09-2005 04:16 AM

Gratz Coaster!! That's a huge accomplishment!

DonovanDuVal 12-10-2005 08:13 AM

That's one hell of an achievement Mister Coaster. Too you I take my hat off.

DonovanDuVal 12-10-2005 08:15 AM

As of today I am 15st 4lbs. So another 2lbs down then.

Lebell 12-10-2005 01:26 PM

Small loss this week, up to 68.4 lbs lost.

Catdaddy33 12-12-2005 04:10 AM

Down to 213 lbs

so far my total is 62 lbs lost...

DonovanDuVal 12-17-2005 06:23 AM

Bad week for the diet. I have been drinking too much, and even indulged in a cheese sandwich, which is a big no, no on the Gi Diet. I have pretty much resigned myself to going up over the crimbo session anyway, so I don't feel too down about it.

Which is why I got a shock when I weighed myself this morning to discover a further two pounds and gone and I was down to 15st 2lbs.

Go me!

Grasshopper Green 12-17-2005 08:07 PM

I missed last week, but after three weeks, I'm down 7 lbs to 137. Whoohoo!

CityOfAngels 12-21-2005 08:23 PM

Man Strange Famous you shoulda told me about this thread. Anyways, I'm glad this was started. I need to buy a scale before I can participate, though. :(

Mister Coaster 12-23-2005 09:10 AM

206 this morning, down another 4 lbs. Just 6 away from my goal weight!

Confederate 12-23-2005 08:30 PM

down to 185, bringing my total weight lost to 60 pounds, not bad for 4 months. My girlfriend is loving it too :)

DonovanDuVal 12-24-2005 06:46 AM

Keep a look out in the bookshops for my forthcoming EZ Weight Loss With Donovan DuVal. It's called 'Get too pissed to eat!' I have been out on the lash all week which I was under the impression was a massive no no, and the quick way to get my weight back up. As of this morning I am 14st 10lbs. So six pounds gone on the booze replacement diet. It's simple. Just a delicious pint of strong larger for breakfast, one for lunch, and then several in the evening. Getting so drunk that eating is no longer an option is the way of the future. Join us at alcoholics unanimous.

Catdaddy33 12-26-2005 12:08 PM

209 today down 4lbs over 2 weeks, been tempted to much by Holiday foods so my loss has slowed, on the flip side I set a goal of 210 by year end and only 19 lbs from my goal weight!!

Gilda 12-26-2005 02:18 PM

Ohhh, can I join if I'm trying to gain weight?

Up 4 pounds since I started, weighed in at 108 yesterday. 7 more to go to get to my goal weight where I can start maintenance eating again.

Lots of high calorie, high fat, high carbohydrate foods. Fried chicken, milkshakes, cheesecake, cookies, regular soda etc.

^ The problem with that is the fact that he will be putting on what I call "cheeseburger weight." In other words, just a layer of useless flab. Sure the scale will be going the direction he wants, but it's not the healthiest way to do it.

A rather buff guy that I used to work with a long time ago told me you have to eat A LOT, but the right things, protein mostly. Lots of lean beef and white meat chicken. If you have a very high calorie intake (3000 calories a day or more) making sure at least 40% of calories are from protein, and are working out regularly (lifting weights) you'll pack on muscle, not fat.

Speaking of adding a layer of useless flab, the diet was off, WAY off for the last week of holiday celebration. As of this morning, I gained 10 pounds since my last TFP weigh in. Oof. I expected 5-6, but not 10. Back on the wagon I go.

Mr Scorcex 12-27-2005 07:30 AM

The holidays and being home from school is kicking my ass weight-wise. There's too much bad food around me all the time.

I'm a she. I don't want to "pack on muscle", ugh! There's nothing wrong with looking muscular, it just isn't a look I want for myself. That extra layer of fat that I'm adding with my diet is exactly what I want.

I was refering to mexicanonabike, assuming you were giving him advise.

Ah. No, he asked what I was doing and I reported back how I was gaining weight. I didn't intend that as advice. Sorry about the misunderstanding.

Martian 12-27-2005 11:48 PM

Bugger, I knew I forgot something.

I have hovered around 150 lbs for the last x months. however, I have recently acquired a truly excellent set of free weights and am therefore altering my diet and beginning some strength training. I'm expecting to up my calorie intake to 2500-2800 along with a dietary supplement. I already eat roughly 40/30/30, so that just needs to be maintained.

New goal, 165-170 lbs by the summer.

Current weight as per my bathroom scale : 148 lbs.

i wouldnt take it as advice anyways. i've been doing that for a fucking long time. it's why i stoped eating junk food cuz it wasnt working. i almost gave up on pop and fries. now, i'm back to healthy food but 2times more than i usualy eat.

DonovanDuVal 01-01-2006 07:04 AM

Well it couldn't last and Christmas has caught up with me to the tune of 2 whole lbs. I am now 14st 12lbs which is fine by me. I will still be partying this week so I expect to be back up to 15st by the end of the week, with the diet and regime' kicking back in then.

Mister Coaster 01-04-2006 07:18 AM

The weight gain/loss rollercoaster ride of the Holidays continues. I lost 6 of the 10 I had gained around Christmas. As of yesterday, I had gained 5 of those back. THIS morning my scale tells me I lost those 5 again and was back to 210.

I'm not sure if its the cheap-ass-ness of my scale or am I really fluctuating that much in a day? I know I overdid it (food and drink wise) around New Years. Also the weather has been cold and rainy, so I haven't been walking as much. Another gain was somewhat expected, but to lose it in a day seems strange.

Sweetpea 01-05-2006 01:40 PM

I'm 5' 5" and i weighed in at 134lbs this morning, my BMI is 22.5 , i'm not overweight, but i want to really trim down this year because i have a big vacation in Florida coming up in early April and i want to look smokin', not just good. Plus i want to just feel a little heathier.

I would like to lose about 10 pounds and be about 124lbs.

I excercise regularily on an Eliptical machine, about 4 times a week for 30 minutes. And i eat very healthy... so i think the biggest change i need to make to lose the weight is to cut down on portions...

Today i had a small decaff. mocha for breakfast (hey, it's seattle, i can't go without my coffee!) ;) and for lunch i had a 5 inch tortilla filled with two small peices of broiled chicken and some beans, with a spinkle of cheese. For dinner i'm going to have 1/2 cup of rice and a half of chicken breast, also broiled.

I'm going to focus on keeping my protein intake up, eating protien at, at least two meals per day.

Putting my goal here in writing is going to help me stay focused : )

Wish me luck! :D

Catdaddy33 01-06-2006 03:55 AM

I pretty much came out even over the Holidays, weighed in at 208 (total 67 lbs lost), managed to lose a pound since Xmas. Considering I was home all week and fell off the exercise bandwagon a few days I was surprised I still lost. Got back on the right track, but the gym is damn crowded this week...

DonovanDuVal 01-07-2006 05:39 AM

Don't know how but I have lost a further pound this week and am now 14st 11lbs. Nice when the flab falls when I'm not even trying, gives me an enormous sense of well being.
