21 and live at home and have owned my car for over a year.

was an apprentice until mid way through november when where i was working shut before i got my trade. now just working full time and saving money. going to move out after i go to the big day out next year.

Whoa freeload, what extra cost does Norway add on over Freight and Transit to raise the price so high?

I'm sorry if I come off as a ignorant american in the matter, but Toyota Corrola's here (which is also high respected so the price doesn't reflect the quality) would start I think about 16k and go up to 22k for a fully load S type.

Is there really high enviromental laws there? Also I'm asking because I'm curious. I've always liked the scandinavian countries, but their "High" taxes have always detterred me.

I live with my wife and kids. I have a mortgage, car payment, credit card bills, dentist bills, insurance premiums, taxes, grocery expenses, two dogs and a cat. Kids, stay home with mom and dad as long as you can.

19 and at home, first year of university.
I don't pay rent but I clean the house. I have a room which is a converted garage, seperate from the house itself and has an ensuite with shower and toilet.
I also have some really cool ramshackle old appliances like a rickety fridge and a microwave with the numbers worn off. Its a pretty sweet setup.
Within walking distance of uni, town, and 24hr service station. Don't own a car, don't want one.
I do have this "learners license", I guess that means I'm supposed to be learning something huh... the only thing its good for is to prove I'm over 18.

Yeah scandinavian enviromental taxes are that high. In Denmark the price gets that high because of the environment taxes and registration taxes. The registration taxes alone adds 200% to the normal price of the car, so when you buy a car here you actually buy three in a sense.

I for one am thrilled about the taxes. Don't you see that this is the most effective way to preserve the enviroment? If cars were as cheap here as they are in America then we'd all owe one and polute like hell.

I agree Nancy, but I'm also thinking about the amount of people in the US who pays Taxes compared to the Scandinavian side. If we pay lower taxes, but because of the amount of people have a higher amount of money paid, then maybe just maybe it's not so bad ^^

My closing arguement. Living at home is not bad. Not respecting your home is a huge crime you can do to yourself, or have done to you.

I live at home when I'm not at school, but i also work for my dad.

I no longer live at home, though I do visit for extended periods of time (like now...I'm home for 2.5 weeks) around holidays and such. I spent a week and numerous weekends at home this last summer, but otherwise stayed in my college town, which I love.

That wouldn't have been possible without my trusty Volvo 240, Zippy. She may be 15 years old, but she still gives me all she's got.

I no longer consider my parents house "home"...I consider the apartment I share with hubby, my son, and two cockatiels "home". I had to live with my dad for two weeks last August when we moved here from North Carolina, and boy was I glad to get out of there!!!

We own one car, fully paid for, whoohoo!

My parents are so cool. I'm not spoiled but they pay for everything so long as I get a good grades and even if I don't, they are still cool .

Yet, I'm not a bad kid, nope... I'm good.. not goodie goodie. you know what I mean. I don't do none of that stuff. What's wrong with some American families where everything is totally non-communal????

My family is so Communal. You can become very rich this way u know... (I'm not rich, not poor either, I'm middle class) but anyways

22, live at school during the school year and live at home when school is out. I do not have a car.

I don't really think living at home is all that bad actually. In fact, I hope to live at home for at least another 3 or 4 years. It's cheaper and will hopefully help me in saving up money to pay back student loans.

Having your parents provide for you is a great luxury but it comes with the consequence of not learning alot of valuable lessons.

I am 19, I live at home and my parents provide for me a room and food. They allow me this luxury so that I can have the financial security of a nest egg when I leave home shortly.

I am proud that I can provide for myself, I think a child is still learning to.

Being in managable debt is acceptable, it is a way of having now what you need any paying a penalty of intrest to have that luxury. Someone who goes into debt paying for rent or groceries needs to find out what is wrong and take responsbility to address that issue and work past these problem. They will not learn those lessons if a parental figure helps by simply giving them money.

A good parent raises a self-suficiant person. If your possesions are not shared freely with everyone then you are not living communaly, you are living dependantly.

25 Okay, this hot gal asks for my number at work. And when she calls, it happens to be my mother who picks up the phone. The gal asks if I'm home, then hangs up, and hasn't called since. Rats. Well, she was five years older than me anyway.

But I do have a car. A friend of my mother's gave it to me, for free :)

i moved back in with my parents after getting divorced. at first, i thought it would be temporary--just till i could find another place. i hated living with my parents while growing up and couldn't wait to move out. now though, i actually enjoy it. they don't ask for rent (actually turned it down), though i do help out a lot around the house.

i don't want to move in with my bf, don't want to live with any of my siblings, and all my friends are either married, don't live around here or i wouldn't want to live with anyway. i don't have kids and i really don't want to live alone, i hated being by myself all the time when i was going through my divorce and i can't imagine it would be better now for some reason. cooking for one is a pain in the ass.

i figure i'll eventually bite the bullet and marry my bf, or at least move in with him. they're thinking of moving in the next year or two and i don't want to go, so i'll be moving out eventually but for now, i enjoy living with my parents. our relationship has improved a lot these last couple of years i've been here. plus the money i save on rent and utilities is awesome!

i do have my own car, but it pretty much just sits in the driveway. i don't remember the last time i drove anywhere. i should sell it, but then i think, what if i need to drive somewhere? so it just sits there :)

24 years old, moved out of my parents house when I was 19, I even amazingly managed to stay out of my parents house for the three years that I was unemployed (I did manage to find bits and pieces of work). So, now I live with my girlfriend and her two cats.

I own my own car outright, and I have now for about five years, looking to buy a new one because I don't think this Explorer is gonna make it much past the 200,000 miles it is at right now.

I am 20 and live at home, I own my own car and work right now and need to save money for my brothers wedding etc. It's not bad here. It's a rough over my head. Food when I am home for supper. Come home/Go Out when I want.

Hey, it's cool . .. you are still young . . . My hubby and i have our own place . . . but i lived with my parents until i was 21 . . . And most of my friends STILL live with their folks while they attend college or save up money . . . etc. It's so damn expensive these days to afford rent, insurance, so just save up money while ya can! :)

22, I have an apartment at school I consider home now, and I just finished my last break where I was staying with my parents. It's year round school for me now until I graduate.
