Who here still lives at home?

Alright, time to fess up. Are you still living at home?
Added bonus question: Do you have a car?

Here's my answer: Yes, I still live with my dad. :(
Bonus answer: No, I don't have a car. :( :(

Irishsean 10-03-2004 01:49 PM

I'm 26 and still live with my parents, but my dad has MS and I help take care of him as my mom can't handle it herself.

And yes, I have a car...

MrFlux 10-03-2004 03:11 PM

Yeah, I'm still living at home but I'm hoping to go flatting next year.
No I don't have a car (yet, I'm starting my job next week so I'll be able to get my own in a few months) but I'm borrowing one of my parent's cars.

yakimushi 10-03-2004 03:13 PM

Yeah, I do. 23 yrs old, been out of college for less than a year though and still job hunting.

Just bought a new car yesterday!

Jesus Pimp 10-03-2004 05:39 PM

I'm 25 and still living at home. I have car.

amonkie 10-03-2004 07:48 PM

la petite moi 10-03-2004 08:08 PM

Yes, I live with my parents still.
No, I don't have my own car- I borrow my dad's.

SpikeQX99 10-03-2004 08:22 PM

25 and still at home.

Helped the family out for a time while Dad was unemployed, took a bit of a toll on the ol' pocketbook, but recovering nicely.

Looking to get out pretty soon, maybe after the 1st of the year.

Yep got a car... 2 of them actually...

thesupermikey 10-03-2004 08:44 PM

ive at college. I live at home when school is out, but i also work for my dad when school is out.

metalgeek 10-03-2004 09:13 PM

Just got back from China, so I'm at home till I get a good job.
Or I might go back to school next fall, so I might stay till I can't stand it anymore, been on my own for the 5 years previous to this....

guthmund 10-03-2004 09:45 PM

I'm 25 and live in a duplex with my mother. She's on disability and sometimes needs help getting round the house, so I moved in about 3 years ago to help her out.

It's a full sized house with a fully furnished basement. I have like my quasi-kitchen and everything....:)

Being a college kid for the last 3 years hasn't been very good on the wallet, so no, I don't own a car.

tokaok 10-03-2004 10:24 PM

yes live at home, currently 21, owned my car since was i 17 its a 90 cavalier nothing fancy but it ges the job done.

Congrats on the new car! Wish I could say the same. ;)

To everyone: THANK YOU! I'm 20 years old, and still living at home with no car has taken a huge toll on the self-esteem factor. It's great to see I'm not the only one living in misery.

isis 10-04-2004 12:08 AM

I live with my parents, but I pay them rent. I also have my own car. But, I think the only reason they want me to still live here is to take care of my doggie. Otherwise he'd be home alone all day and depressed.

How pathetic is that? ahaha.

Suave 10-04-2004 10:09 AM

I'm in residence this year, but next year I'll most likely be back at home (this be expensive, yarr). ;)

Unright 10-04-2004 10:32 AM

I'm 25 and I'm living in a 1400 square foot house with my girlfriend and my dog.

We each have our own car.

k1ng 10-04-2004 12:16 PM

im 21, and live in a dorm 9 months out of the year, and live with my parents the remaining 3 months. I have a car.

MSD 10-04-2004 01:20 PM

Live at home, use Mom's car when she has two working ones, otherwise take the train.

10-06-2004 08:05 PM

Wulf_Hunter 10-06-2004 08:24 PM

Yup I'm still at home...Over 25, have a car(i guess you can call it that)....*sigh*.

Squishor 10-06-2004 09:44 PM

I have always wondered this, and I'm not trying to be a smartass, but....

If your parents' house is "home," what do you call the place where you live if it's not your parents' house? As in "going home for the holidays." Where were you before you went home? Are you never home except when at your parents' house?

Really, I live in a college town and I spend way too much time wondering about this. My experience has been that where I live is my home, wherever it is.

lady 10-06-2004 10:41 PM

I live at home with my mom.

No car, just stoopid buses until I graduate in March.

I always assumed that it's simply a figure of speech. Indeed when I move out, I will call my new home, "home."

crossova 10-08-2004 11:24 AM

i live @ home w/ my family. i dont have a car. i push my metrocard

jenjen 10-08-2004 10:34 PM

saukrates 10-16-2004 12:09 AM

I go to university and am currently at home, but with truck

mused76 10-16-2004 05:00 AM

I'm renting a house from my aunt (250 a month, with fireplace - wood floors, big bathroom) and have a car, good job, and I'm in graduate school for my Masters. I'm lucky though to have good family - I'm in social work

slimshaydee 10-16-2004 05:22 AM

20 at home w/car
but i go to university.

madcow 10-16-2004 07:06 AM

Graduated from college in May, I have my own appartment and my own car. Parents live 3 hours away.

1slOwCD8 10-16-2004 08:48 AM

I still live at home cuz i go to a junior college in my area, and yes do have to car, thats how i get to school.

pinkie 10-16-2004 10:05 AM

I haven't "lived at home" (as in parent's house) since I was 13. Even then, I would not say, "Living."

I do, however, live at home now, my home. :)

skier 10-16-2004 01:11 PM

Wow so many people live with their parents!

I'm renting the basement of my sister's home while going to college. The difference between parent's home and sibling's home may seem small, but I think I almost have the same amount of freedom as having my own house.

Oh, and I have a truck.

Paradise Lost 10-16-2004 01:32 PM

I doth live at home, during the summers and breaks, whatnot.
I do have a car, but no license. I rock :) And I'm almost 20.

adysav 10-16-2004 03:37 PM

Live at home.
Don't have/need/want a car.

mmm...kyle 10-16-2004 04:23 PM

I'm sorta ...both. I have a house in town that I share with friends which I use during the week when I'm at uni, then come home on the weekends as my parents house is closer to where I still work...

/edit: oh, nearly forgot, dont have a car, cant drive... oh well...

I still consider my parents' house to be "home" because I'm in definitively temporary living conditions. In a few months, I'm back there, so I haven't bothered to consider this to be my "home". It's more like camping... for a REALLY long time.

Boomsly 10-18-2004 09:25 AM

Still live at home
have a car but it's not insured yet (prices are a bitch) so I drive my parents cars.
