Caffeine and Weightloss
I've heard that caffeine can be an inhibitor to weight loss, and also that it can help with it. And most of the weight loss pills contain caffeine or guarana in them. Is there a real answer for this or is it subjective as to what your diet is like, what your excersise level is like, and how much caffeine you're taking in?
I would have searched except when I tried I got... Quote:

Caffeine does speed up the metabolism slightly and it also causes the body to put a little more fat to be consumed into the bloodstream. So it does help with weight loss. By itself it does not do much, but mixed with ephedra and aspirin it can be pretty effective. It does have more effect with long exercise sessions of a cardiac ature, because as blood sugar levels drop, the body has more free faty acids to consume.

Caffeine is also a diuretric (sp?) in that it makes you "wanna piss"
So it will get rid of some fluid in you, but weight loss, through loss of water doesn't really count If you drink coffee otr caffeine, it's always important to replenish your water. Not sure about any other reasons though, like what pocon1 pointed out.. |
