I got this idea from the "Any Alcoholics" thread.
What do you people drink?
has it changed?
What do you prefer different things to just have a drink , and another to get drunk with?

Myself, if im just haveing some beers, i like labatt 50.
To get really drunk of Gin, any kinda Gin. An i used to drink Jack D, really had to quite thoose nights.

Beer, and lots of beer! Really. I like Sam Adams, or Labatt Blue, but not to get drunk by, it's more of drinking a couple. If I want to get drunk, margaritas(SP?) are for me. Well, then I might be drinking some Jack and Coke, or Rum and Coke. My new drink is Vodka and Cranberry juice, but that's a little sweet for me. I used to drink lots of tequila, but that always made me different when drinking, i.e. more aggressive, more apt to fight, so I don't drink that in shots any more.

I don't like beer. I prefer hard cider, but it's not always found at some bars. Woodpecker pear cider.... mmmmm drool..

Either that, or vodka drinks. Occassionally a Mikes or Smirnoff ice, although those are way too sweet. So sweet my teeth literally hurt while I drink them.

I don't like being drunk. I hate the sick dizzy feeling.

Ah yes I to love the beer

Rolling rock is the beverage of choice for this drunken non sailor. I strongly dislike wine though. Whiskey sour is good.

I'm a big beer fan.

Guinness, Pabst Blue Ribbon, and Lone Star.

I wish I could get drunk again. It's almost impossible for me to drink enough to get drunk. I drink and drink and drink and just pee alot and fall asleep.

i think its interesting how taste matures.
i remember skulling those nasty sickly sweet liqueurs like Midori and Malibu way back when.

now i couldn´t touch them... too sweet, and too many bad memories.

these days it usually beer, wine or champagne.

It's all about beer. And not any Coors Banquet Bullshit, either. I'll do a Newcastle Brown or a Sam Adams any time. If I can get my mitts on a Murphy's Amber, I'm a happy boy.

Got drunk the other night (at lurkette's birthday party--see my journal) on several beers and one KILLER STRONG margarita. I said "woah" twice when he was mixing it for me. That's the first time I've been drunk-drunk in a really long time. I'll have a beer or two with dinner most nights, though.

Yeah i drink to get drunk, Id rather take some fire down the hatch than drink beers or smirnoff type stuff and feel sick. Pain is better than naseua in my book. But mixed drinks arent bad, Lime- Aid and vodka isnt bad, but shots are definitely my thing.

Most of the time these days I drink either beer or wine. There's a local beer/wine store that stocks 876 different types of beers, so I've been sampling a few from around the world. Mostly Italian, English and many, many American microbrews. Wine---damn, there are just too many to sample, but, anything Italian y.2000 is excellent.

Used to drink Kamikazee's exclusively, then moved to Snakebites and Gin gimlets/tonics, then ended with single barrel bourbon.

If I really want to tie one on, I'll just sample a few of the really good Tequilas that I have in my liqour cabinet. That was my drink of choice in my younger days, however, having discovered that I really am not bullet proof, I gave it up--- messed with my head way too much.

I like very few alcoholic drinks, I used to drink to get drunk - but now I hardly drink at all. For social drinking I like kaluha (sp), bailies - basically milk based drinks.

Red Hook ESB is great; also their Pale Ale.
<--- My favorite bar has Fuller's ESB, The King Of Beers.
Black and Tan is also a good drink (Guiness + Bass Ale)

I'm not one of these people who is sastisfied with just a drink. If I am going to be drinking, its for a reason. That is to get saucy and silly with my firends... When i first started drinking it was all about Jose Cuervo Gold. Straight. I can not even begin to give you a good idea of how much of that crap I used to drink when I first moved out of the parental habitat... but now a days the desire to drink that much has subsided drastically. Maybe because I found healthier ways to deal with life's little curveballs. But when i go out and drink its all about the rum and cokes and saving enough money for the cab ride home.

Beer beer and more beer. Normally Canadian but sometimes Blue or Coors Light. I prefer darker beer, but getting pissed off of some of the darker brews can lead to a painful recovery.

I don't like beer at all. If I'm just drinking to drink or if I'm in no hurry to get drunk I like gin and tonics with a little bit of juice in it. Tonight.. and most nights I'm in the mood to get drunk fast its vodka! Most of the time I just take shots since I don't want to bother with taking the time to drink anything but tonight I've been drinking vodka, cranberry juice, and orange/pinapple juice. It was pretty good... especially compaired to the sodas they sell at the theater we went to!

I love a few glasses of red wine during dinner, but my favourite thing to do in summer is to sit on my porch in a deck chair with a cigarette and a glass of red and just laze away

I like Cooper's Sparkling Ale and Cooper's Pale Ale, but Cooper's is an Australian beer and I don't think it's exported around the world, so I don't think many people will have heard of it. It's full of sediment and I usually swirl it around a little to mix up the sediment and then let it settle as I get through the bottle. I leave the last centimetre or half-inch of beer in there since it's mainly sediment. It gives a richer flavour that way - as you drink more, towards the end of the bottle, you get that richer, thicker flavor.

In the summer, sitting on my porch, with a freezing cold beer... ah, that's heaven

i like most normal beers...none of that flavoured stuff. most domestics will do the trick (Budweiser, MGD, etc). As for wine, i normally will only have it with a good meal and the dinner will sway my preference for the wine. For hard alcohol i'm a vodka man. Anything expensive usually (Belvedere is my fav), and i refuse to drink popov or any of that other $3 for a gallon jug stuff. if i cant drink it on the rocks without cringing, then chances are it is crap and i wont touch it.

The first time I ever drank I got wasted off of yes, count them, 4 Mike's Hard Lemonade. I was a mixed drink guy (normally rum and vodka) for a while, but then I decided that that makes me have to pee as much when I drink beer. Then I started shooting. Now I just drink scotch on the rocks since it's effective, chicks dig it, and I never have to pee when you drink straight 100 proof booze. Oh yeah, when I'm just chilling, I LOVE Bailey's and milk or just baliey's on the rocks. That is just good shit.

I'm getting sick of the drinking to get drunk thing here at college. I'm becoming more and more of a social drinker. I just drink enough to be more out going and social. A nice buzz is one of the greatest things to go out on the town with.
