I can't believe I am just now noticing this thread - put me down for 75 from today.
115,376 + 75 = 115,451 |
115,451 + 50 = 115 501
|
Hrrm.
I've done about 15,000 in the last four years... does that count? Grown men that do push-up contests need alcohol. Lots of alcohol. |
Quote:
(You gotta get your own booze though.) |
What? Oh, C'MON... do I get a tax deduction or something?
There has to be a reward besides hardened chest muscles. I'm such a lightweight... two beers and I'm done. Thanks a lot, lack of body fat. I'm the "couch guy" at the party. |
115 501 + 40 = 115 541
|
115 541 + 60 = 115 601
I can do 60 in three sets without much problem. At this rate I'll be able to reach my goal of 100 in a row by the end of the year. |
I think we should have TFP people do the Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT) and award merit badges and chocolate chip cookies and puppies and sunshine.
Minimum standards (brain is a little rusty): RUN: 2 miles in 13:50 PUSHUPS: 48 in 2 minutes SITUPS: 52 in 2 minutes ...... Oooh, puppies and sunshine. |
Quote:
hmm, maybe I'll just make that a goal and start trying to train myself to run 6:55 miles. |
115 601 + 72x72x72x72 (while watching Animal Planet)
115 889 Herrm... (does 11 more) OCD'd! 116 000! |
115 601 + 60 = 115 661
|
72 + 72 + 72 + 72
(looks at number) Oh hell no! (OCD'd) + 21 116,010 |
Drill Sergeant Crompsin:
You f*ckers better start pushing! WUN-TOO-TREE... WUN-TOO-TREE! |
116 010 + 75 = 116 085
|
Okay, I did a total of 40 in the last week or two. My arms are getting noodley and I can't go all the way down anymore. Shit. This is what happens when all you do is run. :shakehead:
Total: 116,125 Where's my puppy? I need to start doing these every day again. Wait, wait... 2 miles in 13:50? Are you sure? I thought it was 1.5 miles in 13:00... or is that just the initial PFT minimum to join up? |
You're getting the USMC and the US Army mixed up, chief.
Edit: Nevermind, I joined the Army when they still issued sensible hats. |
Well while we're on the subject of PFTs, I found this USMC Woman PFT workout program and it calls one exercise just "bend and thrust"... I thought 'bed what and thrust it where?? Then I figured out it's what Crossfit calls a burpee (only minus the push-up in the middle and the jump at the end, I think).
This thread is making me really sad because I'm never posting in it anymore. I must go do some now... |
45x6 close-hand. 270.
116,125 is now 116,395 |
Okay, so the key is to do them in smaller sets once you've fallen off the horse. And slower.
10 + 10 + 10 + 20 = 116,445 |
AWLRIGHT! GO TEAM!
|
Guess I should start putting in my pushups, eh? Feel bad, I missed so many.
40+30+20+10 = 116545 |
I've worked myself sick so I'm "resting" by not running at all until I fight off this bug. Of course, this gives me the time and the patience to execute my nightly exercises carefully and slowly. My overhead squats are looking decent again and my push-ups will be back on track soon, I'm sure of it. Gotta add the ab work back in when it doesn't make me wanna go pukey.
+10 =116,555 |
from today and yesterday:
100 + 80 + 116,555 = 116,735 |
From last night (too tired to do my full 100)
30 +20 + 10 + 116,735 = 116,795 damnit, someone do 5 to even that out! |
116 795 + 75 = 116 870
|
20+25+15+20 + 116,870 = 116,950
Screw this, doing another 50 right now.. brb |
+20
=116,970 |
20 + 20 + 10 + 116,970 = 117,020
I wanted a perfectly round number.... thanks Supple Cow :grumpy: :) |
She refuses to work with the OCD members here.
|
+40
117,060 |
+40 = 117,100
mmm, much better. |
I'm back on the wagon!
117,100 + 270 = 117,370 -Tamerlain |
Haha!! I have OCD too but it only involves multiples of 5 in this case. Now RADIO VOLUME is another story.... it's got to be even OR multiples of 5. None of this 3,6,7 or 9 crap.
+20 They are hard when you'rve ben dreinking. :p =117,390 |
You drink? Omigod. (rereads your pontifications in his PM box)
What are you drinking? You need to share. I'm a poor old army boy. God, I wanted alcohol so bad last night. Just two beers. Or something. ... 45+51+51+51. Diamonds suck. Only because my arms are 12 foot 12. Uh... (counts) 117,390 + 198 (does two more) 200... 117,390 + 200 = 117,590 (does ten more) 117,600 "And I can't breathe... I'm choking on my lungs. And I can't stay in your spaceship no more!" |
117 600 + 75 = 117 675
|
I'm still very weak as of late, and I'm sorry I haven't been able to contribute much, but have an extra 15... no wait... some more... :D
117,675 + 15 + 10 = 117,700 |
Aberkok,
You're an animal, dude. You actually post yours here all the time. Right on. |
117 700 + 75 = 117 775
Thanks, Crompsin. I am trying. My goal for the end of 2007 is to be able to do 100 in one go. I am on the way, currently working at 75 in 3 sets... stopping when I have to, but finishing those sets always. |
I get about 85 in one shot.
100 seems far away still. |
(comes into room, notices cobwebs)
Hey, gu... WHAT? OH, HELL NO! Where is everybody? DO SOME FRIGGIN' PUSHUPS! 117 775 + 125 117 900 |
did these at the end of my arms workout so gimme a break lol
117 900 + 20 + 20 = 117 940 |
117 940 + 270
118 210. Oh-YEAH. |
Okay, okay, I'm back. I think I did like 100 since I left. Maybe a little more, but I'll be conservative so as not to cheat.
118,310 Thanks for keeping the thread warm for me, guys. |
118 310 + 75 + 75 = 118 460
|
118 460 + 100 = 118 560
|
I don't even want to look at how long ago my last set of push-ups was. I was doing so, so well back then...
But hey, no better time than NOW to get back on the bandwagon!! 118 560 + 20 = 118 580 |
118 580 + 60 = 118 640
|

118,655 Welcome back, abaya. I always think I'm done with this place when I get busy and real life is full of good things, but then when my push-ups start to wane, I come back to this thread and I find myself checking in just to pick up some momentum from everyone here. I'm grateful for the people around here who keep this going when I'm gone. :) |

*looks around to see if the OCD-stricken push-uppers are nearby to make the numbers round again* 118,686 :devious: |
118 686 + 50 = 118 736
I love asymmetry! |
118 736 + 110 = 118 846
|
118 846 + 100 = 118 946
|
Sunday: 118 946 +100 = 119 046
Monday: +20 = 119 066 |
119,006
+210 119,276 |
119,276 + 795 = 120,071
|
120 071 + 60 = 120 131
|
120 131 + 75 = 120 206
|
120 206 + 75 = 120 281
|
+19 =120,300
|
Thought I'd knock out a couple, add 70 more. =120,370
|
120 370 + 125 = 120 495
|
120 495 + 125 = 120 620
|
120,620 + 90 = 120,710
-Tamerlain |
+210
120,920. Uhn... dammit. 30 more. +30 120,950 Okay, that's round enough. |
120,950 + 1,312 = 122,262
Would it be all that much to ask that a few of you strong and well-bodied partipants trudge on over to the 'Sit-up Challenge'? I get lonesome all by my wiles and self. :surprised: |
Quote:
I'd go in for the sit-ups, but I'm not sure what "counts"... I do crunches and bicycles... do those count? |
Quote:
|
122 427 + 150 = 122 577
|
122,577 + 25 = 122,602
|
122,602 + 264
122,866. Damnit. 122,866 + 44 122,900 |
122,900 + 180 = 123 080
|
Aberkok, you're my hero.
|
Last post was 3/12/07....yeesh ... 216 days
216 x 85 (pushups per day, every day) = 18,360 123,080 + 18,360 = 141,440 |
Somebody is trying to compensate for something...
|
Ho hum... watching Lance Henriksen in "Millennium" on DVD and doing:
141,440 + 250 141,690 Eergh, not even enough. 141,690 + 60 141,750 |
Damn. I forgot about this thread completely. I've been working on doing 1 armed pushups for the last month. Not easy!
Today, at least 100 141,750+100=141,850 |
Damn, have not done this in while anyways. 141,850+150=142,000
|
142,000 + 100 = 142 100
My back/shoulder is better now. Time to keep bringing it! |
142 100 + 100 = 142 200
|
142,200 + 235 = 142,435
|
Getting back into it. At one time, 100/day was the norm. But today I'll add in 25. So 142,460
|
Done 30 just now after seeing this. Bad shoulder :/
142,490 |
142,490 + 100 = 142 590
|
I'm being a pussy tonight.
142,590 + 235 = 142,825 |
Time to raise my bar...
142 825 + 140 = 142 965 |
142,965 + 35 = 143,000
that wasnt too bright...now my elbow is going to be bothering me all day tomorrow.... |
142,965 + 35 = 143,000
that wasnt too bright...now my elbow is going to be bothering me all day tomorrow.... |
143 000 + 105 = 143 105
|
143 105
+ 35 + 35 + 30 + 30 + 25 + 25 143 285 Been doing them since Monday, and forgot about this thread. |
Add in another 30.
143 315 |
143 315 + 90 = 143 405
|
360 + 375 + 380 = 144,520...
Uh... (does 30 more) 144,550 Let's go, ya pussies. |
144,550 + 56 = 144,606
Came across the One Hundred Pushup Program yesterday, instantly reminded me of the challenge. Figure this should motivate me to kick the extra 20lbs I got hanging on me. Just to kick it up, I throw in the side plank after each push up. |
Just had to
144,606 + 60 = 144,666 |
I am extraordinarily happy to see this is still going strong, even if it fell off for a while...
I, myself, have fallen off the wagon - more than a couple of times since I was last here. Time to get back on the horse. (Yeah, what can I say? I love to mix metaphors.) 144,666 + 20 = 144,686 |
144,686 + 58 = 144,744
|
144,744+ 62 = 144,806
|
OK, so like an average of 100/week for the past 12 weeks = 1,200.
So therefore.... 144,806 + 1,200 146,006 |
