Looking for build it yourself camp cot plans.

I would like to make my own camp cot. I have been googling for hours now, and can't come up with much.

Does anyone in here have any ideas for portable yet raised above ground sleeping surfaces ?

Links/ideas/plans/suggestions all welcome.

Pack a hammock and a couple of big hooks. It's a lot lighter than a cot. I only say this bcause I love hammocks and I have no idea how I could build a cot that would be big enough for my height and weight and still be portable

I have a hammock...

In this case I need to spend 10 days in a tent and it will be in a field wall to wall with thousands of other tents. No place to put up a hammock I'm afraid.

I bought a cot, but I think I will return it and get a really thick self inflating mattress instead. It will be more versatile for me than a cot. At some later date I may work on building a cot and then I can use the mattress on top of it.
