Best method of... umm... tobacco ingestion.
I saw the post about rolling blunts, and I figured it was OK to post here a question I have about weed. I am an asthmatic, but my girlfriend likes the pipe now and then, and I have a lot of difficulty smoking without choking. Now, this is definitely not an experience thing, I just can't handle it.
We use a pipe, one of the colored ones you buy in tobacco stores or on the streets. Would a bong or hookah be better for me? |

you could try to get some filters and roll those in there (you'll need bigger papers). But in my experience, they make the flow of smoke alot more steady and you'll have zero chance of sucking something straight into your lungs... Had that happen once, and I was coughing & hacking for 15 minutes.
Can't help you on the bong or hookah, sorry

if you have been smoking from a pipe and can't handle it. Immediately go out to a head shop and purchase a bong of at least 1 ft in height. put the bud in the bowl and fill the bong with water to the line. Put mouth over top of bong and thumb over the carb (little hole above the water line) light bud and breath in, once the bong is full of smoke let go of the carb and you will get a lungful of smooth, cool stinky weed smoke. no particulates, and definitely no burning hotsmoke.
hookahs are also nice because they are water filtered and cooled but for my money a bong gives you a big hit smoother than anything. |

for the smoothest smoke imaginable, fill the bong with coke - (coca-cola) sounds weird I know, but it works for me when I have a sore throat. BTW, did you know that pot was originally prescribed by doctors to asthmatics, as it temporarily dilates the airways

no- but i will tell you i was once in a house in the montauk sticks (the very end of long island). there were cats, flowers a-blooming, i sick as could be an hour after i arrived. we were debating going to the hospital.
what happened next was not wise. we lit up a joint. interestingly, the attack didn't get worse- i fell asleep and woke up without the slightest tightness of lung. now i used to use that anecdote to make a point that asthma is at least partially in the mind... but maybe it was the joint! |

I was a regular bong smoker. Plenty of times a day, but now I can't smoke them without hacking up a lung (I had a bad case of pneumonia and haven't been able to smoke bong the same ever since).
If I were you, I would get a glass bubbler. It is the same concept as a bong (the water filters out the smoke) but smaller. It is also easier to regulate how much smoke you are going to take in. |

Recently a friend of mine and I smoked out of this vaporizer type bong. He is a chemist and explained that the weed gets "vaporized" so when you inhale its kind of like a THC "mist".
It was kind of wierd b/c you weren't inhaling a lot of smoke it was a very light mist. I caught a very nice long lasting buzz off of it. Check this site out for more info (i just googled it for you) http://shop.grasscity.com/cgi-bin/gr...ml?id=F5fIYjm3 |

If you fill the bong up a little bit with water and then put a ton of ice into it you can take a hit almost without even feeling the smoke!, you gotta watch it though cuz as the ice melts the water will overflow and possibly get into the herb through the slide, which sucks!

I find water Bongs ALOT smoother..Than pipes. Plus Metal pipes make the smoke taste like shit.
Or Just like mentioned in a previous post...We sometimes do bottle tokes, Freeze somewater in the bottle then do it.....Nice & Smooth. I very rarely choke..But This girl I know, She has this pipe..It's pretty sweet too...It's Yoda From star wars, Anyways...She passed it to me and I started to blaze the bowl and I had my thumb over the shot hole..As soon as I lifted my thumb off that shot hole...The smoke just rushed into my longs...I was hacking for like 10 minutes. I have smoked from her pipe plenty of times..But that one time..I don't know what happened. Anyways...Try some of the things that were mentioned and post the verdict. Good Luck. |

comparing health reasons to ease of use a vaporizer is the best method to ingest this plant.
check out http://lightwell.net/ I've been using the classic eterra for 3 years and am very happy with it. Another benefit of vaporizers is they are much more efficient. Think of weed as a rope (plant) dipped in honey (thc). When you vaporize the rope, you boil off the honey, leaving the rope intact. When you use a direct flame, you are getting some of the honey, but also the useless (and harmful!) plant material. An easy way to vaporize is with a magnifying glass... |

I've always enjoyed my friends' vaporizers, but I have stayed with a good pipe or bong. One cannot sort/break up sticky buds without encountering stickiness all the way through, which is why I can't shake the feeling that vaporizers just get the outside. Nice buzz, but I like the sedative effect also, and I just feel the "up" buzz using the vaporizer, lacking duration & weight. Maybe I like the harmful plant material or some other chemical not present in the "outer THC".

Dude, you're asthmatic. Believe it or not, it can kill you. Pick a new sin.
Any would be better. And remember, when you get old, retired and to responsible to party, it won't be the bowls that you've toked, the beers you drank, or highs you've had, that make you smile in rememberence. Those memories are almost always stemming from a sweet piece o' a$$!

A doctor told me a long time ago - nobody should smoke anything unfiltered without first cooling the smoke thru a water pipe.
But why stick with smoking? If you insist on being foolish enough to use weed, why not put it in a coffee grinder and make some brownies? You don't need to use your lungs to get the drug into your system

Try out a vaporizer... and if you don't like the cost of the electric ones, go to www.smoke-right.com ... they're about $15 shipped and work pretty well once you get used to them. Just grind your stuff up finely (no chunks!) and pay attention to the instructions
Then again, you could always heat up some butter in a sauce pan, put your weed in it, strain it out after a bit more heating and then use it to cook in whatever recipe you want that calls for butter... mmmm weedpie... |

By far the smoothest smoke I have ever encountered. But they are pricey. My friend paid $225 for one. But I always enjoy going over there. |

WOW, 20 responses and only one of them preaching to you about the foolishness of smoking weed...
Have you tried eating the stuff? You can also extract the THC and smoke some oil....It's very smooth without the plant material.

Also for stronger hits, slowly breath in, you will get a thicker smoke (more dense) that when you take in will expand more (I know contradictory to above, but above is to start) |

You can find bongs with chambers designed to hold ice. Pretty cool--no pun intended.
Here's some examples of what to look for

splck: Ive tried exactly that, I think the basic problem (challenge?) is that weed has an extremely strong and crap taste. Best I ever managed was "honey slides" - dont remember the recipe but the principle is mix the butter/weed mushy pulp with something equally strong but not-crap taste.
Word of warning here: Ingesting it is not always easy to control the dosage. Dont do it on an empty stomach unless you actually enjoy the "para's".

Extract THC with butter. Run through cheese cloth to get rid of pulp and then make brownies. You end up with almost no weed taste. I've never heard on anyone including the "weed mushy pulp"in the baked goodies.
