Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children --NEW TRAILER--
As far as I know, at least, this is new. I've hosted it on my website, just check the latest entry and right click, save as. Enjoy!
http://www.uberakito.com edit: was pretty sure this would go in this forum, since most gamers would enjoy it more than the casual movie watcher. If there's any problems with the download, please let me know. I've been watching it on repeat, it's that secksi. |

I think probably my favorite parts of that trailer included Tifa kicking the shit out of that guy, anything with those motorcycles, and when bahamut (?) was being fought by Vincent, Yuffie, Barret and Cid.
Also, I took a frame-by-frame look at the very end of the trailer, because I know I saw something, and yes, it was indeed Sephiroth, I can tell that armor anywhere. <3 |

The trailer is nice, But I just aquired an early release and it is such a great movie. I will not put any spoilers up, But I will say, there are times when you forget that its all CG and not human actor's playing the roles. 10/5 Stars.

I'm not condoning getting this yet or anything but I've heard from MULTIPLE friends and other sources that the full movie is a fucking masterpiece of cinema. One of my friends actually cried. Oh yes.

Yeah, I'm hearing from many friends that this movie is simply unbelievable. I can't wait to see if it's truly that great, or if they're obsessed over the fight scenes and graphics.

Subtitled version has been out for a day or 2. Haven't seen it myself. Not in a rush to see it since I never was a FF7 fanatic. Maybe because I never bothered to finish the game/learn the story.

The Japanese release was today and there's already DVD ripped torrents that can be found. Fan-subs are in progress...
Unfortunately, there is no set release date for Advent Children here in the US. Up until last week the date in our computers at work said 11/30/2005 but now it says 1/2/06. Seriously, the moving release date is pissing me off.

Or you can just grab the fansubs that are out.
There's also something called "Last Order." I believe it's sort of like an OVA for FF7:AC?

Yup, the only thing that FF7 hasn't touched - anime. Spoiler: Last Order is based on the flashback of events during the Nibelheim incident involving Tifa, Cloud, Zack, and of course Sephiroth.
If I don't get Advent Children *legally* in DVD or UMD form before Christmas, I'm downloading a fansub. It's fucking rediculous. Their E3 trailer said "13 September 2005" for japan, "14 September 2005" for N.America. Of course, a previous trailer said "Summer 2004"... I've gotta say, Square-Enix is great, but the release date teasing pisses me off.

That was extremely disappointing. I'm a HUGE FF7 fan, but I have a hard time even considering that good, much less the godsend to gaming like most people I've heard talk about it. The plot was basically non existant and the fight scenes were so fast that they had no structure. Hell, the entire movie had no structure. I think I agree with Penny Arcade for once: it was a huge fan service with good graphics. I swear Square-Enix hired 13 year olds that wrote FF7 fan fiction to do this. Spoiler: When Sephiroth came back I was cringing. Here's hoping for a proper FF7 sequel in game format.

big damn hero

I hear you, Las.
I was completely blown away by how pretty it looked, but, in the end, it's the story that matters. It was fast, jumped back and forth (in places and time) without bothering to let the audience know. And the fight scenes...with the exception of Tifa's little scuffle in the church, are all over the place and moving so fast that I Spoiler: had to slow down the damn movie just to see what was happening in Cloud's big fight in Ajit. It was pretty, no doubt about it and there were times when it was really hard to believe that it wasn't a real, living, breathing actor. I'm anxious to see the english translation of this thing to see how accurate the japanese-english sub I watched really was.
