It is fantastic. Try out the free WWII mod that was released, it is fun as well. I don't play that often anymore, I stick to Joint Ops Typhoon Rising. I'm JimmyJam-NYC in most shooters. The shotgun, mines, pungi sticks are fun as hell. The US gun that has the M203 grenade launcher attached is almost overpowered but great fun. Stay under cover as much as possible and don't get in aircraft piloted by idiots.

I love the BF series. Vietnam is different than 1942 but it's still an extremely good game. I used to play it hours per day until World of Warcraft came out. Right now I'm waiting for Battlefield 2. I'll probably start playing Vietnam again when WoW becomes boring.

me and Lasereth used to be in this pretty bad. we stopped playing when World of Warcraft went Retail but I think I'm gonna get back in to it. You can't beat that multiplayer engine. Good stuff. Lasereth was in the top 100 best Battlefield 1942 players in the world at one point FYI, good stuff. I was good, but never got that good. I suck at Vietnam. But I want to start playing again.

Completely love Vietnam, no doubt about it. Desert Combat was fun for a while but most of the maps seem heavily vehicle-based, and I'm more of an infantry guy. CS:S just made me want to play more BFV again!

Like Las, I'm waiting for BF2. Hell, I'm gonna build a PC just for it, after I saw that vid with the missile going straight through the chopper's doors.

I still play BFV on occasion, same name as I post with. I saw the WWII mod when I got the last patch but didn't grab it, DL'n it as I type.
The maps aren't as much fun as the 1942 maps, that's my overall take on BFV vs. 1942. I also do miss the medic class, give me a tommy gun, a med pack and a few grenades and I'm ready to storm the beaches. |

I didn't like BF:V, I just stick with BF1942. The Eve of Destruction (Vietnam-based, soon to expand to other wars/conflicts) mod for BF1942 > BF:V
