Game Of The Year 2004!
Hmm, I could've sworn a thread regarding GotY of 2004 had been created, but searches proved otherwise....so lets begin one, shall we?
We are almost at years end! All of the heavy hitters have landed by now and wowed gamers across the world. Most notably Half-Life 2, Halo 2, GTA: SA, MGS 3, Metroid Prime 2, Ninja Gaiden, Splinter Cell: PT, Chronicles of Riddick, Burnout 3, KotOR 2, ESPN 2k5, Madden 2005, Prince of Persia 2, Jak 3 and Ratchet and Clank: Up your Arsenal. (Jam-packed with sequels! What ever happened to originality? I guess if it isn’t broke, don't fix it.) If you're like me and haven’t had the pleasure of playing 90% of these titles yet *sigh*, go ahead and list your personal Game of the Year, whether it was released in '04 or not. Therefore, I would have to list my Game of the Year based on the very few games I've had the time to play. My personal Game (although not released in '04) of the Year would go to: Splinter Cell Runner Ups: Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow Beyond Good and Evil Madden 2005 GTA: VC MGS: TS PoP: SoT I'm sure I'm forgetting 1 or 2, but I will be sure to list if it comes to mind. |

Definitely, without a doubt, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. As a matter of fact, this already got GOTY, but there are many organizations that give out this award.

I would say Halo 2 but the story stopped at a chapter transition. Felt left hanging and seeing as how the Xbox Next is at least a year away that blows.
Fable was too short but way fun. Mortal Combat deception. was a big R0x0r game. good party game Well that's my top three

I'd have to say Half-Life 2. Haven't played WoW, as I am afraid it would take my life away and never give it back. But I just know it would be up there for me if I had actually played it.
Other great games of the year: FarCry Rome: Total War Doom 3 Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow |

Definately Far Cry
And as a runner Up Doom 3, Prince of Persia Warrior Within, And Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War. For worst game of the year, HL2. Dissappointed me at every turn. Graphically, storyline wise and gameplay wise.

1. San Andreas.
2. Half Life 2 3. I was a lil disappointed with Halo 2, so I'll give it third.

I'll go multi-console in the interest of brotherhood (x-mas spirit and all...)
Halo 2 (not so wild on single player, but multiplayer can't be beat!) Katamari Damacy: haven't spent too much time on it, but originality out the wazoo! Ninja Gaiden. Killing Ninja. Lots of Ninja. Fiends too!

Hell, I vote Metroid Prime 2. Most reviewers knocked it for the same reasons they ignored with Halo 2, I found. Odd.

HL2 Rome:TW I don't have a console so GTA:SA is out for me until the PC version. It's been a good year though. A very good year.

then u are still in the dark my friend. World of Warcraft, if u are into mmo's, is the shit. And this is coming from someone who lives and breaths fps'. I still have to go with HALO 2 though. The head-shooting, plasma sword-slicing assassin that I am will not allow me to bow before WOW. Instead, I will hold the impaled skull of a brute high in the air with both hands; and as the blood stains my scarred helmet I shall release from within my chest a horrendous battle-cry that will carry across the lands; a cry that speaks of acknowlegded honor and admiration between warriors. Or, I could just tip my hat of to you - World of Warcraft.

You're entitled to your opinion... but.... worst game of the ENTIRE YEAR? [edit] To keep it relevant... My choice for GOTY: PC: Half-Life 2, runner up: Rome: Total War Console: Can there be any other than Halo 2? Runner up: GTA: San Andreas
