Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II - The Sith Lords

So, did anyone else get this game beside me? I'm currently on Telos, and working on...

Spoiler: Trying to find my ship (the Ebon Hawk) that was stolen while I was imprisoned by the TSF, after I blew up a certain planet (well, its basically a moon/planet used to mine for fuel) called Peragus (they (Telos) were pissed off because it was their main source of fuel), while trying to escape a certain Sith Lord (who apparently wants me dead, since you are the last living "Jedi"), and this was in the first 3-4 hours.

Other then that, I'm currently trying to be the most evil son of a bitch that I can possibly be and trying to find some lightsaber parts.

Oh and remember little-girly-man-whiny-bitch Carth from KOTOR 1? Spoiler: He's back, and is a Republic starfleet Admiral and is apparently looking for you also (as are the Sith).

The game is great, just as good as the first (if not better). The music is awesome, gameplay is great, but the graphics (and some framerate problems, but these don't really affect gameplay) are a wee bit disappointing, but I can live with it.

Oh, just looked it up. Whew, it's only the xbox version. I'll be all up in it in Feb when it comes out on PC. Thank god, I was scared there for a minute. I still have to finish GTA and then get PoP2 before I move on to KotOR2.

It's out, but for some reason the release date here (NZ) is still sometime in February on PC AND xbox. What the fuck?

Well, I just beat the game (Dark Side path), and I was kinda disappointed by the ending. It was kinda vague, I guess they wanted to leave room for Knights of the Old Republic III.

The ending was like this (for me anyways): (Do NOT read on if you want your game spoiled for you!!!) MAJOR Spoiler: I killed Darth Nihilus (the guy with the skull-looking mask on the cover of the game) first on a Sith warship during a battle over Telos, then I was heading to Malachor V, then I killed Darth Sion (He was "invincible", aka incredibly cheap, every time you'd drain his health, he'd regenerate it all back, luckily it was easy to drain. Each time you drained it, you could talk to him, and eventually get him to give up) on Malachor V (the site of the bloodiest battle in the Mandalorian/Jedi Civil War, and one of the oldest Sith Academies), then I walked into the Treya Core and had to fight Kreia (aka Darth Treya/Your former friend/master, former Master of Darth Revan, Darth Sion, Darth Nihilus (sp?), who was using you all along to destroy the Jedi, Sith, Republic, AND the Force, you also shared a Force Bond with her as did Revan and Bastila in the first KOTOR, but yours was much more powerful, if she felt pain, you felt pain, it was believed if she died, you died, and vice versa, but I don't know for sure, since the ending didn't hint at anything). The reason you were picked by her is because your character served with Revan and Malak during the Mandalorian War/Jedi Civil War, and when the Jedi council summoned you in the past, you were exiled from the Jedi Council and were stripped of your lightsaber and the force, she felt great power within you, supposedly a great wound in the force. She hated the force because she thought everyone was a puppet of it, with no real control over it. After I drained her health first, she looked like she was defeated, then said I haven't seen real power. She had full health again, with 3 lightsabers flying around her that would fuck you up, big time. Once you destroyed the floating sabers, she was defeated. I chose for her to die, she fell over, and the next thing you saw was her body being thrown off the ledge into one of many of the ravines of Malachor V, the camera then zoomed into the sky and the credits rolled. Oh yeah, the Ebon Hawk was destroyed, during the landing on Malachor V, the wild atmosphere of the planet hurled the ship into many rock walls, eventually coming to a stop between 2 giant rock formations, then falling into Malachor V's abyss.

I beat the game on the light side, and the ending is kinda the same.(I'd post the light ending but i forgot how the spoilers tag works ) The only difference is it sounds like they do a better job of creating a story arc for the next game. It even hints that if they follow the storyline that we might see Revan back in the 3rd game at some point. That would be interesting.

I beat it in a little over 22 or 23 hours. I got my lightsaber about 12 hours in, owned everyone and everything from then on.

I got my saber at around 12 hours also, I logged about 32-33ish hours before I finished the lightside path.

I'll be buying this for Christmas (if I have enough money left after my traffic ticket ). It's getting great reviews and KOTOR was one of my favorite games ever.

I'm still debating on whether or not I should wait for the PC version or get the X-box version. One way or another I will play this game.

I just got it and started in. The prologue is a little tedious. I do enjoy the new features. You can now break down items at workbences and build new ones from the components. There are also more ways to modify armor.

Another new addition is being able to set the play style of the character. They can stand back and shoot or move in close all on their own. You can also set up two weapon configuartions.

Overall, it seems to be some good improvements on an already excellent game...

Is this game truly worth playing? Shoot me straight fellow gamers. I slept on the first one and am in the process of beating it. But a few people at EB Games said they were not satisfied with the story. I would rather not spend the $50 if it isnt that good.

I rented it today. Spoiler: Spoiler: I am on the Citadel and have just agreed to take out the Exchange boss for a little help from a buxom alpha female I met in the cantina

I like it. It's the little improvements that make it a very good game. I especially like two weapon profiles you can switch between in battle. Very handy stuff.

I only have two problems. The first lies in the story. The first couple of hours, time I should have spent acclimating to the finer changes (in battle, gaining/losing the respect of the party and such) were spent playing catch up. There's a whole lot of information there just seems to be thrown at you for the sake of throwing it at you. It's not that I don't like the story, I do, but good gawd give a fellow some breathing room, will ya?

The second is the load times. Maybe it's an issue with my particular copy, but the load times are ridiculous. Especially at the Citadel. Do one thing, go somewhere else....loading....loading......loading.....loading. Do one other thing, have to go somewhere else....loading.....loading...well, you get the point. Not to mention it's all hurky jerky in some places. In a couple of places, I get some really weird kaliediscope thing going on where I can't see anything. And sometimes the audio cuts out. I hope this is just an issue with this particular disc and when I purchase the game later (which I will undoubtedly do) the screwy stuff will be gone.

Edit: Turns out it was a disc problem. I traded it back where I rented it for another copy and even though it looks like it's been roughed up it works almost flawlessly. There's still a few places where it fucks up and the load times still suck pretty hard, but it's not nearly as bad as it was.

I have to say that with 15 hours logged in as an evil dual blade wielding badass, I'm really starting to enjoy this game.
