Everquest 2
I would love to play this game, but alas, my computer is too weak. The game looks amazing, I like how they have the classes setup. Everything looks to be hugely improved over the original and I just hope someday I will be able to play it. Anyone else wishing they could play this game?

Well, I wish I could play it, but not because of technical requirements - that issue will be fixed when I upgrade for Doom 3.
I wish I could play it (as opposed to actually playing it) because of the rediculous syetm of all MMO games. Pay for game, then ALSO pay a significant monthly fee to continue playing game. Sorry, but I don't care how good a game is, it's not work paying $100+ a year for it. Too bad too, cause there are quite a few MMORPGs that I'd be interested in playing.

This isn't the thread for a debate on this, but im just going to say that you pay for about three games, but you will most likely play the game with a combined time of 20 games.
Back to the topic at hand The class system in this reminds me of DAOC a little bit, maybe even a little bit more dynamic though. Should be cool... |

Seems that there going a little over board with the bumpmapping. I dont know all about the clothes in the world of EQ, but some stuff seems too shiny. Unfortunaly my machine wont run that. Some of those screens look really good though. Nice indeed.

I am an EQOA PS2 player and enjoy it for the past year + thought about giving this a shot but alas my current system won't be able to handle it or Doom3 that is one of the reasons I stick to consoles for gaming and my PC for other things. I built this rig a few years back (dual p3ghz 780ish ram 60 gig hdd) serves every purpose I need it for to be a home computer/multimedia machine. Just not builf for today's current gaming needs

Madman 50 war, got him to 50 then I stopped playing for a few months then bought frontiers when it came out have not played him much since Frontiers came out because the Necromancer I made before frontiers was actually wanted around after frontiers, where before I would group and people would say what does a nec do?
Obviously we know how easy they are to play now and all the plvling that went on with them but mine was hard earned many hours to 60 Ozzdaar is his name also on the FH server.

I agree that the character models look horrid. But if the game's good I can get over it. I'm still not sure what I want to play at release - WoW, Guild Wars, or EQ2. Hopefully, WoW won't be the only one with open beta
The computer thing won't be an issue for me because my 3-year old computer is too crappy for any of the games. I'll be getting a new computer no matter what I play. |

Hi,
I totally agree on the character models. No matter how technically good the graphics are, they look absolutely ugly. All the models have plasticy skin tones with puppet-like faces, overly shiny clothes, and metal that looks like it was just shined a minute ago. World of Warcraft, no matter how much worse the graphics engine may be, is aesthetically and artistically far superior. Thanks, Manga |

For those who think the models look horrible I would like to say that it looks a lot better in game. You can check out some awesome movies on this web site: http://eq2.ogaming.com/data/901~Videos.php
Look for the few movies that say Journey of Heroes. Be warned they are are all at least 60mb. |

While I think that they are going to do some amazing stuff with EQ2, I am just not sure I want to give another 5 tears of my life to a game. I played EQ til about 4 months ago and have never felt so free giving it up. Took me til last month to delete from my hard drive though.
Course chances are I will likely at least buy it and try the trial, DH and I play MMORPG's together so at least I won't be alone in my addiction lol Kit |

Im really not a fan of EQ2's artistic work, but its on a different level to WoW, the graphics, although nice in a cartoonish sorta way, aint really the cutting edge i expect from a next gen mmorpg i wish they'd put some more detail in there.
SoE really need some better modellers for there team, i saw a comparison w/ DAoC's new models and DAoC rips em a part. Saying that, i played EQ for years and the graphics on that where no where near special so it'll all be bout the gameplay for me
