Chrono Trigger VS Final Fantasy 7 ("Best. Game. Ever" contest)
http://www.GameFAQs.com
Here is...the championship. Not just that, but also supposedly the two "best. games. ever."...and it's also a match that I've already heard TFP talk heavily about, before it even happened. Well here it is, Chrono Trigger VS Final Fantasy 7. I voted Final Fantasy 7 because of two things... 1) I could actually finish it. 2) The much more obvious anser: I liked it more. For those wonderin', CT is hurtin' pretty good right now at GameFAQs, so you might wanna chip in a vote for it there. Vote on, TFP, and thanks for participating.

CT never had a chance. FF7 is the ultimate fanboi game. Lots of people(such as myself) have only really played 7 out of the FF series, and even more have only played one RPG: FF7. So see you around, CT. I tried to enjoy you, but I got tired of coping with my emulator and no gamepad.

This is a very hard decision.
With the exception of those released in the past 3 years, I've played almost every RPG there is, and these two are by far the best. Chrono Trigger had the mutliple endings and the New Game+, which totally kicked ass and actually added replay value to an RPG, which a very rare and unique quality for the genre. I liked the time travel and how anything you did in the past affected the future. It's one of those games that you don't wanna stop playing. FF7 also had some very kick ass qualities as well. Starting off in Midgar only to find out there's a HUGE world just outside the door was an awesome beginning. Tons of hidden stuff, and the weapons were awesome as hell. I think the Ruby/Emerald weapons were THE BEST "optional extras" included in an RPG ever. Your jaw just drops to the floor when you realize that they beat the shit outta you at level 99 and it'll require a bit of strategy to beat 'em. The story line in FF7 was also pretty twisted. My choice would be with Chrono Trigger simply because it was one of the best ideas for an RPG ever. The multiple paths and endings and the ability to go back and forth in time was really something never before seen. Almost everything about it was unique. While FF7 was a great game and one of the best RPGs ever made, everything in it (short of the weapons) had been done before. The only difference is that FF7 did it better than everything else before it.

I loved both of these games, I really did, they both have their qualities I love about both of them. But. . . Final Fantasy VII is my favorite game of all time, so I have to vote for it, as much as it pains be to pick between the two, I know that Final Fantasy VII is my favorite. And no, it's not the Final Fantasy nor only RPG I've ever played, lol.

I'm in the "I'm willing to bet you can't name a SNES RPG I haven't played" crowd ,and FFVII is still an amazing game. Since both games are really good, I went for CT since it was down 10000 votes.

FF7. One of the few RPG's I played more than once, and dropped everything I was doing for a few weeks just to master.

I hate both. Mainly because I hate japanese RPGs.
If Buldur's Gate were ever on the list I would vote for it over any other RPG. But since there s only 2 choices I ll have to go with Chrono Trigger. I just like the element concept over the materia one.

As far as story-games go, Chrono Trigger and FF7 were awesome, but let's face it, nothing can touch Xenogears.

I've heard nothing but good things about Xenogears; I guess I should check that out sometime.
