Final Fantasy 7 VS Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time ("Best. Game. Ever." contest)
http://www.GameFAQs.com
THE match that most everyone's bracket in this contest depends on is today. Widely considered to be icons in the gaming world, Final Fantasy 7 and Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time collide in the championship of the 32-64 Bit Division. I loved both games, but due to the fact I can still enjoy FF7, I have to vote for it. I also have it winning my bracket though, so that helps reassure my vote for it, heh. Either way though, either game deserves to win in my book. Let's hear it from you guys and gals: who's gettin' your vote?

Yeah, that saddened me too; that's the way it goes sometimes though. Also LoZ:OoT VS Goldeneye wasn't too easy on my eyes, either. Seeding sucks at times.

FF7 gets my vote. Both are great games, but I did enjoy FF7 more.

like i've said elsewhere, final fantasy seven is one of the main reasons the playstation became as popular as it did. that game made the console.

Seeing as Final Fantasy VII is my favorite game of all time hands down, yeah I'm gonna vote for it.

I'm once again split because I don't think this contest is entirely fair. The games that are pitted against each other are in entirely different genres and some are sleepers that no one has ever heard of, while others are among the most popular games ever. That's right. I emphasize popular because some of the games that are in the top 16 are mega-popular, but still not that immensely great, nor are they even close to the supposed "Best.Game.Ever" status that GameFaqs means to promote. Between the two games posted, I can't, with good conscience say that either game is better than the other.

mwahaha, my plans are coming into fruition. FFVII all the way. As far as I can tell the only real competition it will have after this match is Starcraft.

The seedings were based on a nomination system that had submissions sent in from anybody who wanted to be heard. It can't be helped that Gunstar Heroes got out-nominated by LoZ:LttP, Panzer Dragoon Saga got the short end of the stick compared to Goldeneye, Punch-Out and Megaman 2 didn't get enough nominations to get into the tourny at all, or any other cases.

FF7 is my favourite PS1 game ever. If they remade the exact same game for the PS2 (but with better graphics) I'd probably buy a PS2 to play it even though I've played the original one too many times to count. Gets my vote.

Yeah, true, but if that's the case, why bother making a movie-sequel to it? If they don't make a game-sequel for it to ensure that its iconic status stays, then I wish they wouldn't make a movie-sequel either.

That being said, I believe with near certainty that there will be a sequel to FF7 in the future. I really hope I'm right...Advent Children doesn't look too hot right now. Quote:

Just to inform the general public here at TFP, FF7 won by about 7,000 votes...not quite as close a match as many of us had thought.

FF7 is an RPG (FF = Final Fantasy)
Describing what it's about, however, is a MUCH more difficult task. It's a VERY complicated story which I'll leave to someone else to attempt and describe it without giving away any of the awesome twists.

I cant give away the story, basically it is the story of a revolutionary force trying to prevent the destruction of the earth, fighting an unseen foe who is like a puppet master over a massive corporation who has the world by the balls.
Before it is over, everyone involved questions who they are and how they fit in the grand scheme of the world. [edit] not what i thought it was... nm

'Twas single-player, Fremen. Pretty sweet game though; if you're into RPG's, check it out sometime (this is coming from someone who's only played four RPG's that I ever liked, so I think you'll have a good chance of diggin' it).

Much appreciated, H12.
The only rpg's I've played are Paper Mario and Quest64. It's not my favorite style, but it's enjoyable, every once in a while. Thanks, guys.

Heh, for as shitty reviews as it got, I had forgotten how sadly entertaining Quest 64 was. For me, it was one of those games that I wasn't meant to enjoy, yet I did.
