It's kind of a world war 2 realism mod. It replaces the Ak-47 like BAR with the Garand. The rifle you get really depends on when the map takes place. Later battles see the Germans sporting G43s rather than the bolt action K-98. The BAR is now a true light machine gun.
The tanks are more varied. The Germans have Panzer IVs, Panzer IIIs, and Panzer IIs. And Panthers, Tigers, and King Tigers. The tanks have a normal first person window, and a tank gun sight that replaces the crosshairs. There are a whole lot of changes, but in short it's a different and more realistic interpretation of World War II in a game.

The mod DOES have single player support, although I don't think it's for all the maps. I also found that the AI doesn't care for artillery.
I love that the rifles are more accurate and do more damage. I always hated how in BF1942 bad guys would require two 30 caliber rounds to the chest. I see version .6 is out, but I can't download it anywhere. (I tried the Bit-Torrent thing and was getting like 5k per sec...on broadband) Last edited by John Falcon; 04-10-2004 at 05:14 PM.. |
