When I open DC short cut it plays Dc video and looks right but it boots me to desk top when I try to play in single player. There is no sign of it in multiplayer. Any help???? Where do I open my download to?

Well, make sure you have downloaded the full version of dc, and not an upgrade.
As in, DC .7, then make sure you have the 1.6 BF patch. As in your problem with it crashing to the desktop, make sure you have both patches. Then uninstall BF, reinstall, and apply the 1.6 patch, and then install DC .7. edit - It sounds like you're taking the right steps in installing, but you may have the a wrong version/download somewhere. Good luck ! Last edited by Mephex; 03-02-2004 at 11:09 AM.. |

Desert Combat installs itself in the Mods directory in the Battlefield install dir.
To run it, you can use the supplied shortcut (which should appear in your "start" menu.) If you started the regular Battlefield, you can change into DC (or any other mod or expansion) by clicking the "customise game" button in the top-right corner of the main screen. It will then load the appropiate mod. As for singleplayer: in DC not all maps are supported in single player mode. Try a multiplayer game with them to see if it is really an error, or go to the Desert Combat website: LINK Edit: as Mephex said, make sure you've got the latest version of DC and Battlefield itself.

Yep, Mephex is probably right. It sounds like you installed the patch and not the full version. You need Battlefield 1942 version 1.6 and Desert Combat version .7 FULL, not "incremental." Install DC in the place it defaults to and it should work fine. After that, run it from the Start Menu like Silvy said.
