Tactic Ogre is the battle system of FF:T on steroids, however the graphics are rather ugly since it was orginally a SNES game. It is a really good game if you liked FF:T.

I played FFT for the PSX... it was too hard for me and I didn't understand it at all at the time.
Kinda makes me sad I gave away my PSX and all the games now that I hear how great of a game it was. Would like to go back and play it now with all the knowledge I now have of gaming.

Oh, no doubt that there's no beating the original FFT, but FFTA is definately a good game. The graphics are kiddish and stuff, but you'll get over it really fast I promise. Oh, and the 4 a.m. thing is SOOOOO true.
I know nothing about one for PS2, but in my circle of friends, I'm sure I would have heard something if there was a reliable rumor out there. So, I doubt there'll be one any time soon, :'(. |

If you just like Tactics games and don't care about the setting, Front Mission 3 for PSX is Awesome, and Front Mission 4 for the PS2 is coming out this year. You should check them out if you like Mechs, and tactics games.

I played the FFT on PSX and god its slow
Every battle takes around 20 min, add in the random enounters, it will take hours to get through a couple of missions. Also I find the monsters to be to difficult. And my chemists are pretty useless. Is the game getting better after the first few missions? Coz my patience is running out.

Btw, to all of the Front Mission fans out there. I really dont find alot of tactics in that game. Its basically move in range and hit your enemy until they drop dead. Shotgun and machine gun to damage to all part while rifle, missle and melee do damage to a single part. Mortar thing is pretty useless. And that s about all there is to that game.

Ironic, I just loaded up tactics yesterday and played the first 2 missions, I would play but I really dont have the patience anymore Im not sure why I guess I cant sit in the same place for 60 hours like I did before. Most of the time when I get a game I play and want to beat it in 4 days or dont play it at all. All I do rememeber is summoners in tactics haha loved them.
[Spoiler maybe] Haha, my favorite thing about that game that I remember was when I was fighting the final boss and his minions on the airship (I didnt have a book or anything) And im using the 5 knight/darkknight characters on the airship and then I attack him for a while and 3 of my guys are dead only 2 I have are the guy in black armor and the girl knight and the girl knights charmed. Well im thinking Im susposed to run to the edge of the airship after hes nearly dead so then the gay thing charms my girl knight and she stands there and then my dark knight runs to the plank on the airship thinking im susposed to run away haha. Well then my girl knight attacks the boss while charmed and kills him im like wtf? and then like haha. Also I never figured out, how do the deep dungeons item find work? I spent forever trying to figure it out but all I ever got was potions ^^ |
