Call of Duty!
I didnt see any other threads on this game, so I thought I would start one
I just got the game today (well, technically yesterday) and I've already played it for about 8 hours (4 single player, 4 multi) and it is simply amazing. Let me say first that I have not purchased a game in at least 3 years (sim city 2000 or war craft II being the last), and this game is making me rethink that. It was on sale at best buy for $30, so I figured why not? I guess that is my magic price. I cant see spending $50 on a game that I may not like. The single player: awesome! I only got stuck once, and walked around for a couple minutes trying to figure out what I was supposed to do The levels are super realistic, engaging, and require you to interact. It is almost like playing Band of Brothers! The multiplayer: I am stuck on dial up for another month, and suprisingly this game is PLAYABLE on dialup! Normally you get super high ping times, or have to d/l prohibitively large patches, but this game is great. Takes ~30 seconds to connect and load the map and you are playing! A nice suprise as I thought I would have to wait to play online Overall this game is an A+. I cant wait for HL2 and UT2k4 to come out so I can buy those to PS: my nick is Boof! so if you see me give a shout |

This was the first FPS game that really pulled me into its own world on single player since Half-Life, thats saying a lot. I was VERY impressed with the AI of the game (as in the comp not getting stuck on walls and actually doing damage) If you beat it on normal, then give the hardest difficulity a shot.

This is the best WWII sim yet (single player).
I beat it in about a week, it's a very short game, but the levels and gameplay are stunning. YOU CAN RUN OVER TREES WITH THE TANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah I'm enjoying it also...
I'm trying it on the hardest level. I like the fact it's really not a run and gun game. Using cover helps you stay alive, and no health to keep you alive. AI seems darn smart also. Overall just a very intense game!!! Can't wait to try the Soviet battles. |

Great game. Man, for me Pegasus Bridge was hard as hell. Had to keep doing it over and over. Multiplayer is great. I like how snipers dont rule areas like Medal Of Honor multiplayer. I play on a server that uses limited sniper. Two sniper rifles per team. Great maps too. I like hiding behind bushes. How moving through them they make noise. Great game!

Excellent game overall I'd have to say. Got a little repetitive in parts though: more nazis in groups of 3 or 4.... I can't wait until hardware can handle the tank-centered units of 12+ they really had. In the sequels I'd like to play as French resistance, or even a German called by the motherland. It'll probably be south pacific though.

I just finished the Russian campain. Most intense gaming experience ever for me.
I like how some objectives give you a rush of adrenalin(sp?) i.e. destroying a tank(s), bombers etc. If you don't hurry the fuck up you die. Also, if you do die and restart it sometimes isn't a replay of what you just did. The AI is great that way. I recomend this game to everyone I know.

Yah, the tank battle scene was awesome, I wish there was more of that. I love the car chases too, but there are too many IMO, almost every single british mission you do involves you running away from the Germans in a vehicle but yah overall a great game.

I'd love top be the guy that says, "No, y'all are full of shit," but I can't
This game rocks balls! I am about halfway through the Russian campaign. Boy, it would have sucked to be in the Red Army!

yeah, this game is fucking amazing, one of the best, yet not long enough games i've played in quite a long time. A really good WWII FPS if I say so myself.

Just finished the game, actually the first game I've ever finished. Due to the fact it was great from begining to end and I waited to buy another game till I did
I'll be looking for some single player mods and custom maps. I haven't played MP much but I guess I will now.

Ummm, hey guys. I'm trying to install the game and it's asking for the CD Key and no kidding, I can't find it anywhere on the jewel case. Like, nowhere. Is it possible that someone might have gotten the key and pulled it out of the box or am I just a complete retard? Where on the jewel case is the key?! Let me know because this is going to be an interesting trip to Target so I can try and explain this . . .

I bought the game for the multiplayer, but ended up loving the single player levels. The Russian campaign is exceptional -- crossing the Volga into Stalingrad has to be one of the top gaming moments ever. You can even see the fear in your fellow comrades eyes as you ride the boat to the beachhead.

CD-Key finder's tip:
Open case. Open 2nd CD flap. You should now have a 3-CD-wide plastic contraption in front of you. My CD-key is on an impossible-to-remove sticker in the middle panel of the contraption. It is plastered to a single sheet of cardboard, so that may be possible to remove. Don't feel bad - it took me quite a while to find it. I almost banged out an angry email about it. |

Did anyone see Enemy at the Gates? They take the opening of the Russian campaign and make it look exactly like the beginning of that movie.
Great game. I tried playing it on hard difficulty and it was next to impossible to complete. They don't freakin' miss. |
