I actually went to Cyber X Gamings lan tournament in Las Vegas, NV for a Call of Duty tournament with my team, we won first place. Although the event kind of failed ( being their first event ever) it was a good time..
Call of Duty compared to some other FPS games i've played is a game that I can play over and over through SP and MP. Good times |

I got it yesterday for my birthday. I have not played it much in single player. I think I will take a crack at it tonight.
I did notice one thing, I was playing multiplayer, on the map with the snow and rocks. There were 6 of us proning down the hill, looking for the bad guys. All of a sudden, pop, pop, pop, pop. 4 of my team mates fell to 2 snipers. We both hit the deck, and I honestly had a "What do I do now?" moment. The other guy and me started a quick plan of action on how to get out of dodge. Not many games now days make you think like this. The sound is AMAZING too. |

The only problem is that if you have a roomate or people who live near you, it can get really annoying because of the constant cadence of gunfire and explosions. This game is the utter epitome of LOUD.

I play and love BF1942. Single player is easily better than BF, multiplayer is close. Without any mods, i would say COD wins hands down in muliplayer. But, the desert combat mod is so much fun in BF1942, its the winner. I think COD has a lot of potential, and will be better once they patch online play so people cant cheat.

The Single player is better in Call of Duty, the multiplayer is better in Battlefield 1942. Throw in the Desert Combat mod for Battlefield, and you have Game of the Year material in my opinion. If mods could win Game of the Year.

Great game! It's a DirectX 9.0b game and I can play it in 1600x1200 with all the highest gfx settings doing full speed on my new computer, so no wonder - IT LOOKS FANTASTIC!
I finnished the single player easy mode on the 2nd day so a harder setting is recommended. I am not a game pro. I think that it is so different than bf1942 that you have to play both. CoD has alot more arcade-feeling to it in many scenes, which in my opinion is a refreshing break from the great war simulation fps it is. But the cool arcade scenes are also the only weakness of the game if using your brain is your preference. The sound and graphics are the best I've seen. 5/5

it's very free. you can get it at www.desertcombat.com. beware, it's a very large file if you haven't installed it before. you'll need the full version, not the incremental patch.
