Don't have, but a friend just registered it all for a year or something. He should be back in the city in 2 weeks or so, along with the EQ CD's for an install, after that I can play whenever he isn't. Anyone willing to teach me the ropes and maybe hook me up?

No clue on what guild is doing now. Been on an EQ break for a while now, got it uninstalled but not sure if im gonna cancel my account yet =P~ |

I quit a year and a half ago, but my character before I quit was:
Server: Morell-Thule Name: Razerwind Ravenshadow Level: 50 Class: Ranger Guild: Legion of Mist It's sorta funny how I quit. My soon-to-be girlfriend asked me if I would take her out on a date. I said yes, and immediately signed on to Everquest. I said goodbye to my guild members, typed /played to see how many hours I had, and then sent a message to a level 22 friend of mine. I met him in Kelethin (I think that's what the Wood Elf town is called) and gave him my Lamentation, 9/18 dagger that proc'ed Greater Wolf Form, 8,000 platinum, a full set of the crystal armor thar rangers could wear, my Trueshot Bow, Flowing Black Silk Sash, and all my other stuff. Then I told the few people that I talked to in-game that it had been fun for the past year, gave my account info to a guild member, and signed off. I deleted my main character instantly. I had 1600 hours on him, and got rid of him in the blink of an eye. The level 22 guy was going apeshit from all the stuff I was giving him (which was the best that platinum could buy at the time). I knew that it was time to quit for some reason. I wanted to concentrate my time on something more productive (my girlfriend). After deleting Razerwind, I realized that EQ isn't really that good of a game -- it's more of the people you play with that make it fun. None of my friends played it anymore, and I knew that it was losing its value to me. Oh well, an entire year of my life went down the drain to that game, but I'm glad I pulled the plug. -Lasereth

That's kind of true Lasereth. Sometimes I think back on my EQ years and think I wasted my time but I'll see my EQ cds in my room and have the urge to reinstall and re-activate my account. I miss my chars sometimes.

You can't say you wasted years of your life on EQ. It's not like you didn't have fun, or you wouldn't have kept up with it that much. All the temper tantrums, the swearing off of EQ and corpse runs forever, the shaking your fist at what you believed was a god scorning you, made us all more mature. Video games help us grow up, that's what they're there for. Kind of like parents, except more fun.

the corpse runs and the hampster wheel of levelling just wore me out. I jumped out at approx lvl 22 (both times)
1st round I was a DE Shadowknight, 2nd time I was Vahshir beastlord (I think thats the class name?) but yeah. I honestly had a lot more fun my 2nd time around. but still wasnt enough to keep me goin. |

I played for a good two yrs until last October when i traded my lvl 60 Dwarf Warrior on Vallon Zek for a High Elf paladin... after that the game went downhill. I had been in the best guild on my server.. Defiant, but after the trade which was supposed to spark my interest in the game once more, i ended up wanting to play less and less.
It's true EQ took a lot of hours of my life from me, but still to this very day, i feel the urge to log on and talk to some of my old friends =/ |
