I quit a year and a half ago, but my character before I quit was:
Server: Morell-Thule
Name: Razerwind Ravenshadow
Level: 50
Class: Ranger
Guild: Legion of Mist
It's sorta funny how I quit. My soon-to-be girlfriend asked me if I would take her out on a date. I said yes, and immediately signed on to Everquest. I said goodbye to my guild members, typed /played to see how many hours I had, and then sent a message to a level 22 friend of mine.
I met him in Kelethin (I think that's what the Wood Elf town is called) and gave him my Lamentation, 9/18 dagger that proc'ed Greater Wolf Form, 8,000 platinum, a full set of the crystal armor thar rangers could wear, my Trueshot Bow, Flowing Black Silk Sash, and all my other stuff. Then I told the few people that I talked to in-game that it had been fun for the past year, gave my account info to a guild member, and signed off. I deleted my main character instantly.
I had 1600 hours on him, and got rid of him in the blink of an eye. The level 22 guy was going apeshit from all the stuff I was giving him (which was the best that platinum could buy at the time). I knew that it was time to quit for some reason. I wanted to concentrate my time on something more productive (my girlfriend). After deleting Razerwind, I realized that EQ isn't really that good of a game -- it's more of the people you play with that make it fun. None of my friends played it anymore, and I knew that it was losing its value to me. Oh well, an entire year of my life went down the drain to that game, but I'm glad I pulled the plug.
